"Conquering the Inner Wolf"

Sketch of the 1067th page of TwoKinds.

Transcript

Raine: I’m willing to try anything to fix this!

Roselyn: You shouldn’t say that before you know what it is.

Raine: I don’t care what it is. I’ve lived in fear of this curse my whole life…

Roselyn: That is the problem. The way you talk about your ability…

Roselyn: “It’s trying to get out”… “It was the wolf.” You act as though it’s your wolf form itself that you’re fighting against… as if it were alive.

Raine: It does kinda feel that way sometimes…

Roselyn: But it’s not.

Roselyn: Your Keidran shape is just that: a shape, an ability, a skill that requires training like any other. But I do think the first step is to conquer this subconscious wolf you’ve made in your mind. Here…

Roselyn: If you’re truly willing, wear this.

Raine: Okay… what is it?

Roselyn: It’s a Templar slave collar.

Raine: Ah!

Raine: Are you out of your mind, old wolf?! Why would I ever wear one of these?!

Roselyn: Because… it only works on Keidran. As a human, it shouldn’t have any effect on you at all. But if it does, well… I guess you’ll have no choice but to overcome the wolf and change back, now won’t you?

  • So theoretically, does this mean that the collars would not have worked on Euchre or Rose since they could transform into a human form to void their effects?

Although, isn't the point of those things to basically make you dulled and obedient? Would you still have enough free will to be willing to transform?

Hard to say really I mean Mike could have escaped his anytime but didn't because he wasn't supposed to. But that could just be him being submissive in a sense since he didn't say he was told not to do it. I mean Evals when under the effects of that renewed slave collar tried to resist its effects when questioned.

Although Trace did make slave collars intended to force those he transformed into Keidran to obey.

that's not what a Backronym is though. i think you're thinking of a word for 'backwards anagram' (i can't find if it has a special name, it's usually referred to as "a word spelled backwards") not 'backwards acronym'
