I think my main problem with this re-design, is that the previous gluttony was cute, but just a little bit thicker because of the name gluttony I guess. But this is a bit too far in my opinion. The first thing I thought of when I saw this was, "Wow, he is actually a bit of a glutton now." and is a bit too far from the previous design. Also with hyper expansion and vore? Hoping this comic doesn't turn into a fetish fest, unlike the previous one.

I didn't expect him to be chubby, but other than that slight shock, this redesign is pretty cool. I didn't expect him to be a tanuki though.

I don't think it's as good as the previous design, but I will admit that this one fits his personality and name better. A normal-sized pink and white Sylveon isn't exactly what I picture when I think of someone who likes vore and eating.

As I said on the OSE Gluttony reveal page, I would expect a character based on the sin of gluttony to be portly, and more likely obese. OSE Gluttony being skinny as a rail was a poor design choice.

And most Tanuki in Japanese media tend towards being chubby at least.

I think that's what made the original interesting. Gluttony being thinner than expected was more subversive, and actually helped highlight more of what gluttony as a whole is outside of its most common interpretation.

Gluttony isn't only about eating a lot, it's more generally about overindulgence. Overindulgence in sex, in goofing off (e.g. their over-use of cringey gangsta-speak). You can be a glutton for work and exercise. Taken to extremes, they can all have negative effects on your mental and physical health.

Gluttony means overindulgence as a whole, and "skinny as a rail" doesn't fit any meaningful definition. If they're not overindulging in food or drink, they're almost certainly overindulging in something else that would affect their body shape, whether it be exercise (equipment), rare antique weaponry, or something else that is fine in moderation/responsibly but causes problems if you go too far into the weeds with it.

The point is, being skinny, as a general rule, implies the lack of overindulgence. I should note that Persona 5's interpretation of Gluttony focuses more on overindulgence in money, and the sinner there is a portly Yakuza oyabun.

I agree with you on the redesign, but was OSE really a fetish fest? The only fetishes in the comic I can think of was paw licking and facesitting.

Of course Gluttony is a Tanuki with magic powers.

Of course he can grow to any size he wants.
