the first one is true, not so much the second one, he is trying to not be racist to raine , the girl he is in love with, and once worked with sythe in a life or death situation because he had no other choice, i may be forgetting some things but I don't see any attempts to get better. only trying to increase his chances with raine who activaly wants to look human and begin minimally pragmatic in working with sythe to defeat zen, one can remain begin racist while begin pragmatic

Not how I see it. Raine may be his motivation to change, but that doesn't mean that he's only doing it to get laid. He's just seeing for the first time that the keidran aren't just a bunch of animals or savages, which he has been taught since his childhood. Raine is a human and a keidran rolled into one and he's realized that regardless of her appearance she's still the same person.
Also it would be really stupid of Tom not to give a protagonist, with such an obvious flaw, some character development.

then we are interpreting things in wildly diferent ways, the only situation where i can see anything that can be interpreted as positive change is that one time where he din´t attack natani when he was startled by her

tom may try to make some developement, but it does not mean that it will work

more than once i have seen in media attempts to show that character x has changed and is no longer bigoted but it fails,sadly i can only think of one of them at the moment ( cullen from dragon age).

anyway, to try to end this before either of us ends up getting too carried on, i have interpreted reds actions one way, you have interpreted another way

knowing part of both Chim's and reds back story .. red would have been part in putting Chim together in Traces old days
