  • Ex? Yeah I figured Jayden was the “Ex,” but now I’m wondering… ex-girlfriend, or ex-wife?!

This story is getting very interesting.

  • Y'all remember when this just started out as a simple twincest comic? Man how this story & character development has come a long ways from that.

  • I dont think the mother died in a car crash.... Or at least not now. for a simple reason, if the incident happened now why Seb and Serah dont Remember this ipotetical car crash?
Convenient trauma/amnesia caused by the incident ? No
If she will REALLY die in a car crash It will not happen now but later.

Please just let it be divorce that ends the relationship and not a fatal car crash.

I wouldn't be surprised if it did end like that unfortunately :/ Keith's right ear is intact in this flashback and it's never explained how he lost part of it (and part of his tail). A car crash would sadly be a fitting explanation for these injuries

It's been 7 years since page one, and I think this has attempted to portray such a relationship as realistically as possible and done a very good job at it, and then some.

I've found it interesting as for how frowned upon incest is IRL (for good reason), the act has a level of taboo to it that is hard to match, and when you put it in a fictional environment where it can do no real harm, it comes with certian baggage that can make the plot of these kinds of story's quite intense. This comic series however, while covering all of those standard incest plot points, has also done much more by introducing this whole dynamic of the dad being more than just a drunk, and remembering that siblings have a special relationship to begin with.

As for this plot points of the dad, He's seemingly a drunk for a reason and back together with his ex to some extent, and now he's also struggling with the realization that his kids are banging behind his back. Keith has quickly become the most interesting character here Imo, and I'm excited to see this continue, I truly believe this is the best comic series on this site, and I think it deserves that title.

And their outfits are the same in the family portrait and Keith has his ear intact in the portrait.. :/

  • I really feel like this is setting up for the car crash theory as what reason should this flashback have to take place in a car besides that. What I’m wonder is what does Serah do that makes her think it’s her fault.

My guess would be that you guys are correct. It's just tough to watch, knowing something terrible is about to happen...

Possible. Seb's still asleep so to him he'd either remember waking up in the wreck or the ER and not much more. Sera's just barely awake and all she knows is mom and dad are arguing over something to do with mom getting knocked up at least from the dialog. People process grief and survivors guilt in weird ways. Lost my wife to a pulmonary embolism caused by a blood clot innher leg a week after a road trip where I didn't get off the interstate to avoid a truck accident. I was absolutely convinced that it was the extra 3 hours sitting in that traffic jam that caused the blood clot and by not taking the detour I had killed my wife. I was 52 at the time and it was almost a year later I remembered her making a comment about some minor seemingly unimportant leg swelling a week before we left that let me forgive myself. Imagine a kid still half asleep only aware of an argument thinking she was somehow the cause of an argument and then before you can fully wake you're involved in a accident where your mom dies.
It's very possible Sera's still experiencing some survivors guilt and PTSD why she's somehow thinking she caused mom's death or distracted dad at a key moment.

Seconded. I would welcome the unexpected lack of violent death.a simple breakup could leave all the same trauma, even Keith's ear.

...and the comedic omakes if everyone is alive could be incredible.

  • I aint much for the car crash kinda theory. With how their mom talks, she seems to be the one to get up and leave her life behind because she is upset with her husband. I mean, it happens in the real world all the damn time. Mothers abandon their kids and live different lives without caring for their kids or ex-husband. Calling herself "just the girl you knocked up" speaks to me that she doesnt feel lile she belongs in this family and should be elsewhere. With a man she would actually love.

Granted this comic is like 7ish years old but I dont ever recal Serah, Seb, or Keith mentioning or hinting at some kind of horrific accident that lead to the death of their mother. HOWEVER we have heard Jayden say something along the lines of "I have seen worse relationships and couples."

As far as Serah's feelings for her mother. Her vibes and emotions have lead to the "child feeling they had a fault in the divorce" kind of thing and not a survivor's guilt kinda thing. As for Keith's tail and ear, who knows? Dude was shown to be a drunk for a good while. He probably had seen a fight or two. Dude has had a rough life.

Just my two cents. I really think yall are super off the mark with this car crash theory. Not saying I am correct however. This is just my hunch.

  • I for one don't have any theories of how this turns out, I am waiting for Black Kitten to tell it. It has been 7ish years, both the art and the story is fantastic. I agree it's the best on this site and I am always looking for the follow on s, which brings me to e621 daily. Thanks to ALL the artists and e621 for making/providing this very unique and interesting site to visit.

This story is getting very interesting.

Jayden mentions to Serah she's been judged because of her "promiscuity" when she offers to help her. Promiscuity refers to adultery (cheating), not sleeping around. She most likely cheated on Keith, he hooked up with their mom and she got pregnant

    "This is heavy."

There’s that word again. “Heavy”. Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there some sort of problem with the Earth’s gravitational pull?
