Description

"In 2136, the first Human expedition to the stars leaves Earth and reaches Gliese 832. When they reach it, they find out that it is inhabited by the Venlil Republic, a member of the Federation, a coalition of numerous species, all of them herbivorous.     I love how this suggests that Slanek can't tell the difference between a normal smile and a creepy one - just assumes it's all the same. XD

    I just assumed this is an exaggerated mental perception of how humans appear to venlil in their heads, many call a smile a "snarl" and from their point of view it's a predator bearing it's fangs, not a person showing happiness.
