Lynx Reed - In the Snow

Lt Reed tests out her Lynx form during winter while Captain Keiren tags along on patrol, suggested by Kriegerstein!

  • Not much later, it was time to go back to base; Keiren was looking forward to a hot drink and a chair by the fireplace.

    Unfortunately, Reed would spend ten minutes with the door open, deciding whether or not to go inside.

    Keiren learned, the hard way, that some things are universal with felines.

  • Interesting fact: Many animals who live in cold temperatures have an evolutionary tool called Countercurrent Exchange, which prevents frostbite and temperature loss in their extremities by running veins and arteries together. That way the heat from the blood coming from the heart is partially transferred to the blood returning to it. This enables a better blood flow which in turn prevents tissue death, the main cause of frost bite.
