Biology 101 - Crossbreeds
More lessons by Professor Raine, suggested by Lief! Unfortunately for Raine, her lesson plan is already out of date, but she's not aware of the mask's meddling regarding Trace and Flora.

MemberFor science it is necessary to carry out biology experiments with basitin, trial and error, and if necessary repeat it until exhaustion ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).
StarScented
MemberYup, that's the universal norm with dragon's regardless of the artist.
Female dragon's can get pregnant by any male, regardless of species.
Male dragon's can get any female pregnant, regardless of species.
Hopefully one day there can one day be a study done to find out about Basitin Hybrid's.
ShaDark
Member"I'm a special case." Ah, yes. the classic excuse for all human hybrids. But let me ask you a question Mrs. Raine: Can you explain why Mrs. Flora Legacy is current pregnant, when her only bed partner is a human?
RinkyDink
MemberThat's the theory done, now it's time for the practical lesson.... any takers?
imagoober
PrivilegedAt least according to this post Raine's birth form was Keidran.
(Too lazy to go digging through the actual comic archives right now. :P )
Anar Isil
MemberI can't help but wonder what quizzes and homework from this class look like.
BananFisk
MemberPage 728 says that she was in keidran form shortly after birth (note: it says she either was born in keidran form,or changed shortly after birth, it is also noted that the midwife fainted because of this)
JAB the Tab
Memberdragons = yes
JAB the Tab
Membernow there's a good idea for twokinds r34
iliar
MemberTom explained it:
Euchre has the ability for perfect transformation. When he transforms into a human, he becomes a human. And Raine inherited the same ability.
According to Trace and Flora. The mask has changed the rules. Raine studied biology from books. Since the rules were changed recently, she, like other people, may not be aware that the rules have been changed.
Redragon1990
MemberSo in all likelihood, trace and floras kid is actually a keidran dragon hybrid
FuzzyGears
MemberNot just the basitin, we obviously have insufficient data for human crossbreeding too. A large-scale study to determine critical influences and statistical likelihood under various conditions appears warranted. Low success rates and long incubation times may make this a rather extensive study for sure, but this can be tackled with a sufficient amount of test-subjects.
For ...eh... research purposes of course.
Hence also the camera.
TenchiZero
MemberI presume that Raine's case is that one of her parents (Euchre?) used a spell to change species temporarily and carry on the relationship, but said spell alters them to be genetically compatible and carries that over to their offspring in a passive manner.
My assumption is: The Masks changed the rules, but forgot to patch a loophole (which Trace managed to exploit) and/or are incapable of preventing dragons from interfering either.
dark wind
MemberI wonder how the cat clans figure into this. Females are too small for that to work, but a male cat and a female wolf, fox or tiger could theoretically work .
BXSinclair
MemberNo, one of The Masks intentionally altered things to allow Trace and Flora to have children, because for whatever reason, it needed Flora's bloodline to continue
There is some debate on if this change applies in general, or if it specifically only affects Trace and Flora
Miestwin
MemberAh yes, the infamous dragon reproduction chart.
If there's a question of "can dragon reproduce with [species name here]". Short answer? If the species has the "bit" then yes. From humans to demons, everything goes.
Redox96
MemberHaving "usually infertile" next to hybrid gives me hope for Kat. She has expressed feelings of sadness regarding her infertility in the past.
MercenaryX
MemberNot to mention that because of that there is a chance that it will apply to all Keidrans so it could force their life spans to get longer thanks to the human dna in them.
tkongingi
MemberSo that's why human hybrids haven't overrun the place yet.
