News: Feb 26, 2025 Show

Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.

Jan 7th: Small update to the Uploading Guidelines today: We now no longer allow paintovers of AI generated content. Or in other words AI generated content that has been edited to some degree by humans.

    I was shocked to see that this wasn't commissioned by the same person that commissioned all of the other Qibli x Turtle art, and so was he when I showed him. But he's been hoping that other people would start making art of them so I think he's pretty happy to see that is happening now!

    His dastardly scheme worked! but it's not that rare - i think Helltaker author [game dev] said something akin to "I wanted more art with 'demon-girls in suits' so i gave people material to jump off from". (￣▽￣;)ゞ

    and hey! I can do my personal projects too! I liked Turtle probably the most, and Qibli is shippable with 'just about any cold or timid character' so it was bound to happen eventually. [tho i'm mixed on the books in general - ranted extensively about that already over at FA]
    And yeah: when i was scouring for references i noticed ~3 non-fetish images with those two, all "anonymous commissions", so i assumed "they're probably from one person", and "at least they will like this one who ever they are".

    I am the one who has commissioned the past few times, and MAN I am SO happy to see someone elae doing it, instead of just another Qinter art. I like some different ships than the norm xP
