Why would they? WE know Sha may be asexual, and (likely) has not had sex for some time. They do not know that.

Perhaps, but that seems unlikely outside of some set of "convenient" coincidences that would scream of bad writing.

When they first met there was nothing suggesting to him she was there for anything more than the festival, and after she declined his proposition and moved on he seems to have decided to seek a partner elsewhere. From his reaction to being dragged off, he wasn't expecting her to circle back to accept his initial offer after all.
