News: Feb 26, 2025 Show

Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.
Further information on the bill itself can be found at the Free Speech Coalition: https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2112/

    More cringe I'd say.
But I find this to be a message to be too important to not post just because it comes off as edgy.
I mostly just want those, that are able, in my communities to be able to protect themselves given how much the far right will be embolden be to act on their hate towards us.

  • Yes get a gun cause we live in dangerous times
Do not put the gun in your pants waistband

Be sure of the relevant laws where you live before purchasing, look up advice for new gun owners from a source you trust, do not buy a gun if you frequently deal with suicidal tendencies, if you do consider buying mace or other non lethal self defense devices before buying a gun, if you're going to buy a gun have somewhere in mind you can practice with it such as an accredited shooting range, be sure said place is outsider friendly beforehand.

I know you didn't expect to read this in the comments of what essentially a porn site but if you were thinking of buying a gun it's better you hear it here than not at all.

  • I don't normally write comments, but this is an insane reaction to the changing of presidents. Please keep yourself grounded in reality and take legal venues to defend yourself instead of trying to take the law into your own hands.

Just a disclaimer, I'm not saying "go out and kill a Republican."
I'm more concerned about them getting too comfortable publicly showing/acting on their hate twords minorities.
I personally was considering one regardless of the election since I ride a motorcycle (people tend to get crazy around us.)

This is advocating for legal gun ownership and self defense, nothing illegal here

Yeh I know, I just got annoyed by the obviously reactionary 180. For several years people were trying to ban guns for being dangerous, now they're advocating because something mighthappen, which was the defense against banning them in the first place.

I don't know if I'll be hit or not for saying this stuff, it's just something that annoyed me.

That's what annoys me about all this.
Not all of us think that. A lot of us just want actual background checks and law enforcement to take action when they have info prior to a shooting. You know...red flag laws?

Background checks are already meant to be mandatory (i.e Cannot sell to criminals), however cannot prevent one from providing someone else with a weapon (legally or illegally) or the potential of laziness; Action cannot usually be taken if it is only words alone, this is just especially due the nature of the internet, you can be arrested for it in some cases, but even where I lived people would very occasionally call in false threats just to get out of school or the like, wasting time and resources of any agency or department that had to get involved when they could instead be elsewhere that something actually happening is.

But the people I always discussed this before, always was the complete and total banning of weaponry, and for being against that, I was always deemed one thing or another for not feeling the same exact way they did.

To be clear you're absolutely in the right. The fact is minorities being armed has been seen to make them safer from various forms of violent bigotry in the past. Part of the reason the original Black Panthers got cracked down on so hard is cause their presence on the streets as armed black men did lead to a decrease in police violence against minority groups usually targeted by them.
And it's not a coincidence that Germany massively restricted who could and couldn't own a gun in the 30s. Getting armed now before it's made difficult for certain people is not a bad idea. The only good argument against getting a gun I've heard so far is its not a good idea to do it while paranoid which everyone is apt to be atm. But I would still encourage people to read up on it at least.

BTW I'm not assuming ignorance on your part for any of this, this is as much for anyone who just happened to be reading all the comments.

I was wondering why this was so downvoted, then I read the description, why the funnies gotta be political :(

    I get that.
I honestly wouldn't have posted anything like this if our political climate wasn't so hostile twords us. I just want to tune everything out and pretend everything is fine but I can't. That's how we are in this situation. We lay our heads down while the conservative propaganda machine keeps churning 24/7/365.

Da fuck? What right wing echo chamber did you crawl out of? That sounds like something an edgy teen would pull out their ass or some rumor from 4chan. Also as far as I'm aware, the whole trans community collectively sighed one that hit the news knowing the conservatives would use this one bad actor to paint all of us to look like that.

Actually, now that I typed that all out, that sounds like something individuals like sparks the dog(someone who has wished death upon christians) would say.
Mind you, she has been denounced by the furry community for her extreme views that lean towards the death of others. Oh, and she's a zoo.

? Uh, are you doing alright? This is perfectly normal. People exercising their legally authorized right to own a gun. Nothing wrong with responsible gun ownership.

people are still arguing that guns are dangerous and should be regulated, it's only a specific subset of people that think the opposite. (same for a complete ban as well) Most people who are in favor of gun control are also in favor of responsible gun ownership. Just because you can do two things that are somewhat opposed to each other, doesn't make it a complete 180 reversal, or entirely hypocritical. People really need to start engaging critical thinking and reasoning skills when consuming media.
