News: Feb 26, 2025 Show

Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.

i never intended any of what the cave people said to be understandable x.x but one of the staff felt it'd be fun/funny to have it be a fictional language for the hell of it basically. i felt nothing wrong with it, but it made some people pissed off it couldn't be understood easily :l ... i guess it should of been nothing after all? XD
anyway! here is the translation notes for everything that was said ( i hope i didnt miss anything... there was alot of stuff to reread over and i likely missed something...)

    And as promised. The translations at the end of everything. I was willing to give the translations over to Darkmavrik since they were covering most of them but they never came back to me on that. If you're disappointed that the translations are nothing but fluff and no insane plot revelations were revealed? That was the intention. Just meant to be a language unrecognizable via first glance and I figured why not make it a nod to one of my favorite games.

    Speaking of which. Shout out to those who picked up on the fact I was using Al Bhed. You guy's are the real ones for figuring that one out and putting up with translating it. To mention something I had brought up a while ago? A part of me wishes I stuck to the idea of originally making it all Klingon. Would have lined up a little more with Kitsu being a Star Trek fan. Wouldn't have known how that would have went so I went with the one fictional language that I was more familiar with.

    Will this ever happen again? Probably not. If we do deal with more people of the past I'll have the translations baked into the page to save some time for the future.
    If I had to list favorite characters here for what I wrote? It would be the Cave Mammoth Ejuno and the still unnamed Cave Hawk.
    Ejuno was the turning point that made me more confident in writing sex scenes and was a turning point and because Bung (the cave boar) basically had gotten away unpunished I had made it a bit of a running gag to dunk on him.
    The Cave Hawk on the other hand was just pure fun. Him getting cracked up on drug berries and believing he had met gods was a hilarious on a whim choice that I made and I do not regret it.

    This project had some ups and downs (holy fuck I fought hard to dodge a really nasty joke that nearly got through and I accidentally spoiled some stuff a little early) but overall was fun.

    Anywho with that all done and out of the way? I'll see you guys next time for the next project.

    Honestly, making a made up language that can be translated is an great feat and pretty cool. I think it does make those pages more interesting than just not saying much at all, makes 'em more alive.
