Description

Resampling in original file was really distracting so removed extra frames to make animation look much crisper. Resampling never looks good on hand drawn animation, it doesn't look good with anything to be honest.
I also took huge liberty to crop out extra space not only because it was making file huge but also pixelating animation itself. Also bit downscale to hide major artifacting as filter didn't catch everything.

Wonder what makes you feel like you should be messing with someone else's work, whom might just as well have intended it to be seen exactly like he/she put it out there (which seems the likely scenario, seeing as how he/she put it out there in that form).

Original file is still at the parent post, I explained exactly what I did and why and artist is more than free to flag this.
It's just that I still have no idea why those resampled frames were there in the first place, THAT was biggest issue. I also respect that artist took some time to make actual scene for animation, but for this kind of simple loop it was simply taking up resolution and it wasn't _that_ detailed. I did try to include whole scene, but it ended up pixellating and giving that blocky gradient effect everywhere unless I knocked up bitrate ridiculously high and as I don't have access to source files compression artifacts from the flash file started to show up, meaning I had to lower resolution and that would've made seeing actual animation even less visible without cropping.

  • Also just like to point out that when these files are converted to gifs they are usually forced to be smaller and some people irritatingly crop out watermarks and add resampling or take frames out to ruin the animation and usually nobody says a damn thing about those.

Now that I mentioned what I have done and haven't cropped any watermarks or similar then of course first comment will be someone noticing that I migh have ruined someones artistic vision. Now it's simply ten times smaller in filesize and also viewable with mobile devices without need for magnifying glass and withing web page without owning 4K monitor as e621 still won't scale flash and video files.

  • Thanks for the webm version. Hopefully e621 will do this automatically for animated gifs via some gfycat-like feature.

Don't mind him. We appreciate you improving the quality of this! People like you that do this clearly only have respect for the artists and their work, because I don't think people would put time and effort into things like this just to upset others. There are easier ways to do that.

Thankyou very much, don't be put off from doing this again, we need more helpful and generous people like you around here!

the only feature we got for now is just the up-vote and down votes for comments which do come with a time limit. :I
