News: Feb 26, 2025 Show

Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.
Further information on the bill itself can be found at the Free Speech Coalition: https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2112/

  • of all the jersey devil photos I've seen, this one is most "demonic" in it's appearance. The others I've seen look like just a corrupt Pegasus, or a satyr & unicorn's abomination of a child.

Supposedly, the story goes, a woman during colonization, was giving birth to a 10-15th child, and she prayed to god to let this one be a devil, when it was born it became a hooved, horse headed demon with wings and flew to the outside from the chimney. And it has been rumored to stalk the forests of New Jersey. Now I'd love to believe this story, but 10-15, what kind of mother has that many kids without ending their life? Honestly, I would take the cold bony hand once I got 3 kids, 1-2 is bad enough.

Thanks for the info, and as for your query, fifteen kids was more-or-less the norm (more precisely, fifteen pregnancies). Farmers, in particular, needed many hands to tend their fields and help with the housework. Also, due to the high infant mortality rate, most families couldn't afford to have fewer than six pregnancies. My great-grandfather actually came from a brood of nineteen.
