  • Well kitsune are shape shifters and usually have smaller forms. So before and after transformation... I guess.

  • I assume the before is the previous incarnation of her "husband/boyfriend" and after is his current incarnation.
    While the kitsune is probably immortal spirit and probably has a diminished form because in modern times people believe less in the supernatural so she has less power and thus is in a less powerful form.

    Keeap in mind this is just my theory based on manga/anime cliches and tropes.

    Eh, my guess is she's decided to appear younger for the sake of not looking too out of place with him or perhaps she's conserving energy. Kitsune aren't.. Like the typical Kami, belief doesn't matter, they can exist with full power without it.

    Or she did it just because... Why the fuck not?
