    @Mutisija:

the character has shitload of obviously feminine traits. for example
    -makeup
    -long eyelashes
    -traditionally feminine coloring
-body type that leans towards feminine
    -feminine apparel
there is nothing in this image that suggests that the character is anything else than flat chested female.

But are there breasts? No. Is there a vagina? No. Since Birdo's gender is already questionable canonically as it is, and since the above quote is from an admin, I'll tag it as ambiguous_gender all day if I have to. "Tag what you see", and all that.

flat chested female. lack of genitals and breasts does not mean that the character cannot be tagged as female when literally everything else in image screams that the character is female. and riversyde is a contributor. also these things are handled case specific. just because someone ruled that way in other image does not mean that it applies to every single image of this character.

But simply looking like a female isn't enough to justify that argument. Like this image for example:

Feminine hair, eyelashes, clothing, and lack of a visible penis or balls implies at a first glance it's a "flat-chested female", but it is still tagged as crossdressing male regardless and no one has disputed it, rendering the claim that implied female traits = female sex meaningless. And Riversyde's ruling wasn't based on one picture alone in the forum I found it in, but Birdo as a character in general.

that character's body type and facial traits are leaning towards masculine but honestly i would tag it as muscular flat chested female. but anyways this birdo does not have anything in this specific image that is leaning towards masculine while literally all other clues are leaning very heavily towards feminine.

All right, what about this picture?

I know that pictures are handled "case-specific", but in all pointed-out instances suggesting femininity, this picture is practically identical in all cases (Even in pose and body shape) except one: color. For 6 months the above picture has been tagged as ambiguous_gender, and no one has challenged it. In this case, is it really fair to say that the color of a character alone is enough to distinguish between female and ambiguous genders? (And this isn't a case of sexual dimorphism either, since color has never defined genders in the Mario franchise).

that image is incorrectly tagged. it should be tagged as female too. just because nobody has fixed it does not mean that its correct.

Based on our tagging guidelines, Birdo should be tagged as female unless it can't be assumed from body type. Reproductive organs are only necessary for determining gender when it can't be assumed from the rest of the body.

Since an admin finally stepped in to clarify everything, I give up, you win. I was just trying to 'tag what I see', because I've made the mistake before of tagging female characters as female even though no genitals were visible and even though they had a feminine body and I've been chewed out for it, so I didn't want to go through that again but somehow ended up mis-tagging the gender again anyway.

The first thing about TWYS is about the whole character. Simply put, if a character looks one gender, and there are no conflicting traits suggesting otherwise, the character receives that gender tag. It doesn't necessarily have to be about genitalia, else everything rated safe would have some degree of ambiguity when it doesn't.

Body shape, toning, and other features apply just as much as genitalia.

What I'm wondering is, Blowjob or Nosejob?

Nintendo rarely gives their characters an anatomy set (aside from pokemon sometimes) but i think it's canon that that part comes with a tongue, so i'd say blowjob

Actually I'm pretty sure it was listed that birdo was the only male Yoshi they might have updated that I don't know.

Literally nobody has ever said that. Birdo is not a Yoshi at all, Birdo is a Birdo.

Decided to just dig up some shit for myself to see
"series. ... In Japan, Birdo is known as Catherine. Nintendo of America initially called him a guy like the Japanese games, but later changed it to a female after the Super Mario Bros. 2 manual described Birdo as 'He thinks he's a girl and shoots eggs from his mouth.'"
Apparently birdo is only cannonicly female in America, because at the time America had problems with gay people.
But I do concede that I was wrong about him being a Yoshi.
However I do think this picture should be listed as male/ambiguous at the very least

Birdo has always been a species. Even in Mario 2 there were at least three of them, with different-colored scales.

I can concede to you that. but I still believe that this pic should be male/ambiguous at the very least, given that this particular birdo has no visible sexual traits.

True, I don't think the eyelashes are enough.
