just pointing this out. the rifle is equipped with a silencer

A silencer doesnt make the gun just go poof without a sound. it just makes it less noise so i can not be heard of a far distance.

    Silenced weapons also don't echo.

    Suppressor?
Could be a flash-hider or just a low detail muzzle break.

Muzzle breaks/flash hiders aren't nearly that big. It's definitely drawn as a silencer, but I guess I'm being nitpicky

You seem to be a bit misguided on how an echo works. Regardless of whether or not it is silenced, a sniper rifle is typically a very high caliber weapon that makes one hell of a loud noise. An echo is formed when there are no other waves, be it sound or light, to disrupt the travel an "bounce" of a sound in any given area. Thus a silenced, for example PSG-1 sniper rifle, will in fact make an echo because it has nothing to do with the gun, but instead as stated before, sound and light.

  • This is why you keep your finger out of the trigger guard until you're ready to fire.

    Enjoy the tinnitus.

    Probably worth it though.

A silencer reduces the barrel report of the weapon, yes, but unless we're talking a KSVK, silencers reduce the report enough that it won't be heard beyond a few dozen meters. The distance traveled by the sound is not enough that your ear will pick out the echo from the initial report, especially if you include energy losses on reflection.
Let's call this echo delay ~1/3 of a second after the initial report. That means that the sound has traveled about a football field round trip (at 340m/s). In the animation, there's little noticeable difference in volume between the echo and the initial report. Even a silenced KSVK is difficult to hear at 100m, and it's a poorly-suppressed .50cal.

I believe you mean suppressor. And without subsonic ammunition, the firearm can still be heard from miles away.
