Orgasm denial is a form of orgasm control where a character delays, or is prevented from having an orgasm. Themes included under this definition will commonly involve relinquishing control of one's ability to pleasure themselves to another party either through verbal commands, or through the use of a chastity device. Orgasm denial may be practiced as a solo activity in which a character exhibits a perceived sense of self-control to limit their stimulation, and prevent orgasm. A popular related trend is the annual challenge event No Nut November in which a person will actively limit their sexual activity for the entire month of November.

Orgasm denial is closely related to BDSM, especially with the involvement of consent themes between two or more partners. The character in control of another character's pleasure assumes the dominant role while the character who gives up control of their own pleasure assumes the submissive role.
