A tricycle, sometimes abbreviated to trike, is a pedal-powered three-wheeled vehicle, similar in form and function to a bicycle. Tricycles are mostly commonly seen used by younger children, as they do not require the rider to have as much a sense of balance as while riding a bicycle, tricycles are sometimes used to evoke a sense of childishness or intended to be humorous when ridden by an adult.

Not all tricycles are intended for children - cycle rickshaws and freight tricycles are used for commercial and transport purposes, particularly in developing parts of Africa and Asia.
