A gorget is a piece of armor designed to protect the wearer's throat.

It can come in three forms:

• A collar made out of protective material such as metal, leather or kevlar.
• A series of metal bands that cover the length of the neck,
• Or a bib-like metal plate with a neck collar.

This armor piece is often worn together with other armor pieces as part of a suit of plate armor.
