Mrs. Jonathan "Elizabeth" Brisby is the main protagonist of The Secret of NIMH. She is a female mouse with brown fur and wears a tattered red cape and an amulet.

As the book was made in the early 70's, even a female protagonist wasn't deemed worthy of being given a proper name compared to her heroic husband, and so she's only known by her husband's name, Jonathan Brisby (Frisby in the book); fans sometimes give her the unofficial name of Elizabeth in honor of her voice actress from the film, Elizabeth Hartman.
