This tag covers the following:

• The act of cutting or tearing a limb from a body. This includes partial removal.
• The injury left on the body (or remainder of the limb) as a result of this act.

If the removed limb is visible, remember to include the appropriate "severed" tag.

If the injury has healed over, use amputee instead.
