The navel, also known as the belly button, is a scar on the abdomen caused when the umbilical cord is removed from a newborn baby. All placental mammals have a navel, but it is especially conspicuous in humans. Navels have a complex relationship with various cultures, social moors, sexuality, and fashion.

Types of Navel:

• innie navel - the most common form of navel, a concave "hole", can have vary in shape and depth, for tagging purposes, is simply tagged as navel
• big navel - A larger than average navel
• deep navel - A navel that is depicted as deep, be it through something being inserted into it, or visually implied by the darkness of the navel
• outie navel - A navel that protrudes, especially common during pregnancy.
• unusual navel - Non-standard navels, such as a robotic character having a bolt or port in place of a normal navel
• detailed navel - A navel drawn with more visual complexity than usual, with folds and wrinkles around and/or inside of the navel
• x navel - a simplified stylized version of a navel that looks like an "X"
