Character: kyubi (yo-kai watch)
A fox-like species/character from Yo-Kai Watch. Between the video games, manga, and anime, there are a small number of Kyubi (all male) who all exhibit different personality traits. Often depicted as female (MTF crossgender), and alongside Renamon, Delphox, etc.
"Kyubi" characters
- Anime/Yo-Kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters: a junior Kyubi whose human form is a young boy with two strands of hair standing up (like ears) and nine strands splitting behind him (like tails). He charms women to collect Kyubi Orbs, which can be used to make himself more powerful. Often called "Kyuuri" (cucumber) to distinguish from the Crimson Master.
- A quest in Yo-Kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters has the anime Kyubi (in human form) enlist the player's aid in collecting Kyubi Orbs. At the culmination of this quest, the Crimson Master (as Mr. Barton) confiscates the orbs and instructs the younger Kyubi to try again in another town without outside help.
- Manga: A junior Kyubi with the same human form, a young boy with hair reminiscent of a fox. Rather than collecting Kyubi Orbs, he charms humans for the sake of being popular.
- In Nathan Adams (Keita Amano)'s manga, he rescues Nate from being hit by a truck, makes an attempt to win Katie's heart when she shows up, then narrowly avoids falling for Nate.
- In Katie Forester (Fumika Kodama)'s manga, he makes an unsuccessful attempt to win her heart, then ends up falling for her instead.
- Video Games (Crimson Master): a senior Kyubi acting as a local guardian spirit, whose human form is the science teacher "Mr. Barton" (unnamed in Japanese).
Alternate forms
- Frostail (JPN: Inugami): a white-and-blue Kyubi with a brutal personality.
- Darkyubi (JPN: Yami Kyubi): a black Kyubi who exhibits symptoms of chuunibyou.
- Kyubot (JPN: Meka Kyubi): a robotic Kyubi.
- Tsuyu Kyubi: a blue Kyubi wearing a frog-like hood.
