Character: scp-2547

SCP-2547 are a group of canid characters from the mythos of the SCP Foundation website. Their debut story, SCP-2547 — Dog Days Of Summer was posted in 2016 by a writer known as AbsentmindedNihilist.

SCP-2547 is an enormous pack of approximately four thousand feral members of the order Canidae, classified as an uncontained Keter-class phenomenon by the SCP Foundation. It is only encountered in rural American towns with a reservoir, a house of worship, and a population of less than three thousand people. They have only appeared in the states of Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, and California; apart from an outlying incident where the pack manifested in Sloth's Pit, Wisconsin, a town with a population over twenty thousand and a proclivity to paranormal folklore.

SCP-2547 exhibit anomalous abilities centered around its leader and creator, an individual designated SCP-2547-1. Despite having the appearance of canids, all tested members of SCP-2547 are genetically identical to human beings; this is because they transformed from human to feral for transgressions against SCP-2547-1, and do not appear to retain their memories or intelligence from before their species transformation. SCP-2547 may vanish and relocate when direct observation is broken, done either en masse for their arrivals and departures, or on an individual level whenever an instance is separated from the rest of the pack; due to this and the fact that SCP-2547 will become aggressive against anyone attempting to tranquilize, harm, or kill any of its members, it is highly difficult to separate an instance for even a short time, and implausible in the long run. Members also have no necessity for food or beverage.

Active between June 1 and August 31, SCP-2547 follow a general series of actions. For an SCP-2547 Event, the pack will be accompanied by a localized heat wave compounded by the sudden complete evaporation of the town reservoir and absence of all precipitation and humidity (bottled water remains unaffected). SCP-2547 arrive after midnight during a power outage and form a blockade centered around the town's densest-populated area, violently preventing any citizens from leaving. After three days, SCP-2547-1 will arrive and guide SCP-2547, under whom they will attend sermons as well as guard and transport the possessions of. SCP-2547 will stay until the next full moon, upon which they will leave with SCP-2547-1 and disappear.

Ever since the implementation of Protocol Desert Grassroots by the SCP Foundation for containment, SCP-2547 manifestations have decreased in frequency, yet SCP-2547-1 began to accept fewer forms of tribute and consequently add more frequently additions to SCP-2547's numbers.
