Species: jiangshi
A jiangshi, also known as a hopping vampire or hopping zombie is an undead monster from Chinese legend and folklore. It's a corpse wearing antique Chinese clothes and that is too stiff to bend, thus requiring it to hop about with its arms outstretched. Its hair is typically white and its skin greenish-white (possibly from fungus or putrification). A paper talisman with spell is typically stuck to its forehead. It's believed to feed on the life force of victims at night, retreating to a coffin or some dark location during the day. According to legend, they were originally created by sorcerers who, unable to give the body a proper burial, enchanted the corpse with a spark of life, allowing them to make their way home so their families could instead. To sustain this false-life, the jiangshi feeds on the breath of the living, meeting lip-to-lip with a sleeping victim and siphoning the moisture, air, and life-force from their victim in a grotesque parody of a kiss.
