This is an informal group tag containing both the American_black_bear and moon_bear (Asian black bear) of the ursinae subfamily. Both are typically two toned bears with black or dark brown fur and brown, grey, or white highlights, most noticeably upon their snouts.

The visual difference between the two are the V or crescent shaped chest markings on their pelts, which moon bears have and (most) American black bears lack. This tag exists solely to make searching both species easier.
