Proboscidea, also known as Proboscideans, are an order mammals containing the still living species of elephants as well as extinct species such as the mammoth.
All Proboscideans are enormous in size, and often have tusks and long, muscular, prehensile trunks. Some species, mainly early Proboscideans, often have less developed trunks and tusks, or rarely even lack them.
