An alcoholic beverage (or simply alcohol) is a beverage containing ethanol.
There are a multitude of these beverages and they are typically divided into three classes– beers, wines, and spirits – and typically their alcohol content is between 3% and 50%.
Many countries have their own alcoholic beverages, such as champagne in France, sake in Japan or vodka in Russia.
Alcohol is a drug, and heavy or chronic consumption can degenerate into an addiction known as alcoholism.
Contrary to popular belief, all alcohol consumption, even at low doses, is a factor in premature mortality, and exposes us to multiple health risks.
Unfortunately, along with tobacco, it is also one of the world's leading causes of death
(So remember to drink as little as possible!)
