The coyote, also known as the American jackal or the prairie wolf, is a species of canine found throughout North and Central America.
They have large prick ears and a fluffy tail tipped with black. They have countershaded fur in shades of tan and grey in a pattern similar to wolves.
Coyotes are often associated with American desert settings as well as American mythology.
