SCP-956 is a formerly safe-class object. It takes the form of a pink Piñata of unspecified species. By default the creature is docile, hence its previous status. However, if a small child 12 years or younger enters its effective range, they will become permanently paralyzed. SCP-956 will proceed to bludgeon the child until their torso ruptures and their body spills a pile of unmarked candy from their organs, referred to as SCP-956-1. If an animal, or a human over 12 years old, consumes the candy they will experience a seizure, with the possibility of cardiac arrest. If a child under 12 consumes the candy, they will transform into a copy of SCP-956.

Lastly, if SCP-956 goes for prolonged periods without transforming children, it will begin moving and instinctively home on to locations with large concentrations of children, such as elementary schools.
