trolley
A trolley (known as a cart in the United States) is a small vehicle typically featuring four wheels, a handle or other hold-able surface, and a platform, tray, bin, basket, or other containers used for the temporary storing of goods and materials.
The term trolley usually refers to the shopping cart variety, but also applies to most if not all push carts.
Types
Design
- flatbed_trolley - A trolley featuring a flat bed instead of a container.
Usage
- baggage_cart - A type used at airports, hotels to transport luggage.
- service_cart - A type used to in the catering industry to serve food. It may have multiple trays.
- shopping_cart - A type with a deep bin or basket for storing purchasable goods and other small to medium sized items.
Not to be confused with
- Trolley Vehicle or Trolley Car - A chiefly American term for a tram that is connected to an overhead electric wire via a trolley pole or pantograph.
