street
A street is a pathway designed for vehicular traffic within a populated area, such as a city, town, or village, they are found in urban and suburban areas. Streets are usually bordered on either side by a sidewalk for pedestrian travel, and may have street lamps, and/or utility poles, and have buildings along them. While usually paved with asphalt in modern times, a street (especially in a fantasy or period setting) may be paved in stone or even tiling.
Road vs. Street
For the purposes of tagging, street should only be used for pathways with the characteristics described above — found in urban/suburban areas, with buildings along them, and having lighting, sidewalks and possibly utility poles. Road is specifically intended for paved, gravel, or dirt pathways for vehicles, or more generally for roads in rural or remote settings.
