Species: hamadryas baboon

The hamadryas baboon (Papio hamadryas) is a species of baboon native to the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. It is the northernmost living species of baboon, and is classified as Least Concern by the IUCN.

Male hamadryas baboons have light grey fur and a large mane, while females have brown fur with no mane. They have pink skin that is visible on their faces, digits, and bare butts.

Hamadryas baboons were among the animals that were considered sacred by ancient Egyptians, with several deities being represented by the animal.
