Overlay layer should be used when a narrative element appears over, or outside of a border, comic panel, or cutaway. This should not apply to characters, or other scene props.
Applications
- Pictographics, hearts, and other symbols
- Speech bubbles, thought bubbles, and text boxes
- Text and sound effects
