Nightsabers are a species of dire pantherine with exaggerated saber teeth, and the typical mount of the night_elf race in the Warcraft franchise; starting in Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos , and continuing throughout World of Warcraft .

They sport a distinct large pantherine shape, with big clawed paws, exaggerated saber teeth, and occasionally; glowing eyes to match their night elf life-companions.
Although they are typically connected with the night elves, it is not unusual to find them in the wilds waiting to be tamed or acquired as a mount even by a skilled member of the Horde.
In World of Warcraft, they generally belong to the Cat taming-family, with the exception of those that fall into the Spirit Beast family.
