A sweater that is cut ("cropped") to only cover their upper torso, typically revealing the wearer's midriff — however, cropped sweaters may be worn with high waisted bottomwear to cover the midriff. In some cases, these sweaters are cropped to the point that only the wearer's neck, arms and shoulders are covered by the garment, revealing their chest or breasts.

Cropped sweaters are most commonly off-shoulder, shoulderless or have a turtleneck collar, but crew neck and v-neck sweaters are also seen, if less commonly.

Note: Cropped sweaters should NOT be confused with cropped hoodies.
