Circle eyes (๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต:ไธธ็›ฎ maru-me), or zero eyes (๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต:โ—‹็›ฎ zero-me), is an artistic trope pertaining to a character's eyes for some expressions, originating from manga and anime.

Circle eyes are generally solid white with no pupils or irises, with a black outline around it. They do not have to be perfect circles, nor do they have to be those colors as they could potentially be the color of what the character's sclera or iris normally are. The outline may vary in thickness and neatness, with sloppier lines often indicative of distress. It may also be disrupted to allow for tears. Along with other facial features, circle eyes may be used to express when a character feels overwhelmed; shocked; startled; scared; or foolish upon a realization. It may also be used to convey a wild or distant look for angry, monstrous, crazy, or disassociating characters.

Discretion should be used when tagging characters whose eyes are naturally solid and does not have any pupils or irises, or have been drawn in a simplified art style.
