hazard stripes

A slanted yellow and black stripe pattern used to symbolize that a location or an object is hazardous. Often used in industrial areas where potentially harmful (lethal even) various machinery and locations are everywhere as well as on crime scenes and restricted areas where unauthorized personnel aren't allowed to cross. This pattern is usually painted on surfaces or printed on barricade tape.

In character design this pattern is often used on certain characters to signal to the audience they that may prove to be harmful to those around them in some way, is somehow related to industrial related activities (such as a construction robot), or simply because the artist thought hazard stripes on characters look cool.
