The different types of legwear are often confused. Use this guide to help tag things correctly.

• leggings - A tight garment worn like pants. Leggings are often confused with thinner legwear such as pantyhose, and tights.
• leg_warmers - Essentially socks for your legs. Leg warmers may reach thighs, but do not cover the feet.
• pantyhose - A thin, sheer garment worn like pants. Pantyhose are designed to be worn under clothing.
• stockings - A garment designed to cover your feet up to the thigh, but not the waist.
• tights - Tights are thicker pantyhose. Tights are too shear to be worn in place of bottomwear.

Covers up to the thigh (or any part of the leg), but not the waist

• leg_warmers - Tends to be textured like socks. If they cover the feet, tag socks instead. Leg warmers may partially or fully cover the leg.

Covers the feet

If the legwear visibly covers the feet in an image, the footwear tag also applies.

• stockings - May be distinguished from other forms of thigh highs by appearing more form-fitted, sheer, or being held up by garter straps.

Covers the waist

These clothing items tend to be tight fitting, and usually are worn under other clothing.

Clothing is opaque or only slightly translucent.

• leggings - May be worn under other clothing or in place of bottomwear.
• yoga_pants - A type of leggings.

Clothing is mostly translucent. A character probably isn't wearing these out in public without bottomwear.
