The Grimace Shake is a milkshake and flavored themed drink in celebration of Grimace's 52nd birthday, providing a list on how it was made with the following, "Scoop out four scoops of vanilla ice cream into a blender. Add two scoops of frozen blueberries and two spoons of strawberry jam to the mix."
More information on who Grimace is and why a milkshake is made to represent him and to those wondering and wanting to understand what he is:
In 2012, McDonald's Corp tweeted from their official account that Grimace was "the embodiment of a milkshake, though others still insist he's a taste bud." The account tweeted something similar in 2014, saying, "Grimace lore says he is the embodiment of a milkshake or a taste bud."
Info on the online trend
A TikTok trend with the hashtag #GrimaceShake began circulating after its release, featuring horror-themed videos about the milkshake.
A possible background connection that connects with the GrimaceShake videos posted online is that Grimace was first introduced in the McDonaldland media franchise in November 1971 as "Evil Grimace", with four arms and a green coloration. Early the following year, the "Evil" was dropped from his name, he became a good guy, lost a pair of arms, and received his iconic purple color.) In the 1980s, McDonald's also created the character Uncle O'Grimacey (a relative of Grimace) to promote Shamrock Shakes in March.
Basically adding to all of this, the milkshake is for ONLY the people who know of Grimace getting to enjoy the drink inspired by him while celebrating his birthday.
And to those who drink the shake but not knowing who Grimace is will meet a terrible demise.
