SCP-2547-1 is a canid character from the mythos of the SCP Foundation website. His debut story, SCP-2547 — Dog Days Of Summer was posted in 2016 by a writer known as AbsentmindedNihilist.

SCP-2547-1 is a male coyote (Canis latrans) who identifies itself by the religious title of "the Reverend". Canonically, he is a semi-anthro capable of speech and walking bipedally despite ostensibly having the physiology of a normal coyote, but some artists depict him as either extreme of anthro or feral. He wears a tailored leather jacket and cross necklace made of a worn wooden crucifix.

SCP-2547-1's activity (confined between June 1 and August 31, during summer in the United States) is preluded by the appearance of SCP-2547, which he is the leader and apparent creator of. He will announce himself three days after SCP-2547 begins occupying a small town whose reservoir has dried up by SCP-2547-1's influence. Upon arrival, SCP-2547-1 will take residence in the affected town's church and regularly give sermons four times a day; wherein he will ususally preach how modern society has forgotten the Reverend and his siblings, and how they have lost the ability to dream as they once did.

After each sermon, SCP-2547-1 will offer his congregation water in exchange for unspecified trade. If he accepts the trade, he may regurgitate up to 60 to 120 liters of drinking water; if he does not or is offended by other action, he will transform the offender into a canid that joins SCP-2547's numbers. While he does not tell what he considers an acceptable tribute, SCP-2547-1 will accept any form of meat (including corpses of domestic cats); men's clothing (such as dress shirts, canvas shoes, belts); various tools and weapons (flint arrowheads, knives, whips); plants (pepper, tobacco, saguaro cactus thorns); resources (leather, burlap, broken glass, sulfur); and certain other miscellaneous objects (animal skulls, lost teeth, carved sculptures). SCP-2547-1 will entrust these material goods given to SCP-2547 for safekeeping and transport.

Compared to material trade, SCP-2547-1 shows a clear preference toward more intangible and personable forms of compensation. He has provided the most water for those who either engage in sex with him or tell stories with SCP-2547-1 or allegory of him at its focus; however, SCP-2547-1 began refusing the later form of tribute after implementation of Protocol Desert Grassroots: a containment measure by the SCP Foundation that successfully reduced SCP-2547 Events by creating public media secretly inspired by SCP-2547-1.

Personality wise, SCP-2547-1 is greedy, vain, and lascivious. He arranges SCP-2547 events for the expressed purpose of gaining recognition he believed to have lost in the current age through a betrayal from humans. During his sermons, he creates blasphemous allegories and comparisons of himself to Christian scripture, and in conversation he speaks in riddles and innuendo to claim that he is an embodiment of humanity's wilder side, known to "the parts of you that paint and sing and fuck and leap."

SCP-2547 is ostensibly the Coyote of indigenous North American mythology, who across various tribes, is a feared and/or respected trickster-spirit that has performed deceptive feats such as to steal fire from the gods, lay with others, and stop the rain for his own agenda.
