A time skip is a narrative technique where the story jumps forward in time to a future event, skipping the unimportant parts that transpired in-between.

Not to be confused with

• time_travel - The characters in the story themselves travel to the future or to the past.
• time_stop - A fetish involving someone freezing another in time in order to exploit them.
