A hostile mob that spawns at night, in the dark around swamps, or if the player is around a slime chunk. A slime is a green cube shaped creature that varies in size and will bounce around aimlessly unless a player is around, in which case they head straight for them. Slimes in their smallest state are harmless and no longer do contact damage to the player. Upon death, slimes drop slimeballs that can be used to make leads, slime blocks, sticky pistons, or used in making potions.
