The 2024 Pokémon Gigaleak (also known as the "Pokemon Teraleak") is a data breach that occurred in October 2024, where several private files from Game Freak's archives were shared with the public. Of particular interest to the community were development files and concept art for multiple Pokémon games.
In addition to the usual fare of new beta Pokémon species and other unused graphics, some unused Diamond & Pearl documents relating to in-universe mythology were discovered, centered on Pokémon including Arceus, Lapras, Octillery, Piloswine, Rapidash, Slaking, Slakoth, Typhlosion, and Ursaring. These documents include a foundational myth, and several irui kon'intan (異類婚姻譚) detailing relations between human and Pokémon, which would possibly have been used as the basis for in-game texts such as Sinnoh Folk Story 3.
Those discussing the leaks largely interpreted the Pokémon iruikon intan as explicit approvals of Poképhilia, and began producing art depicting some of the scenes found within, art alluding to the leaks with phrases such as "it's canon", art where Typhlosion is treated as a pedophile/rapist based on the acts described within the unused mythology, etc.
