The act of measuring_up refers to when a penis/dildo/penetrating object is placed along the path it would be penetrating in a crude "measurement" of how far it would go. For example, placing the base of the penis at or near the entrance to be penetrated and resting the tip of the penis somewhere higher up, usually on the belly. Could imply imminent_sex but not necessarily.

The origin of the tag is in part from a subreddit of the same name (Content Warning: IRL human porn).

Similar to

• measuring_penetration_depth but measuring_up should have the penetrating object present where measuring_penetration_depth includes situations like graded_belly where the penetrating object is not necessarily present.
• penis_on_* tags (most notably penis_on_belly) but measuring_up should imply penetration of the thing it is on and should lay roughly along the axis on which penetration would happen (e.g. along the throat instead of across it). penis_on_belly also includes when an individual's penis is on their own belly which is generally not what measuring_up is referring to.
