Having said that, this would seem an excellent time for Canada to end its association with the Crown: having a Federal Governor General, plus a Lieutenant Governor representing the Crown for each province and territory (in addition to all of their requisite staff, support structure, housing and upkeep, lackeys and lickspittles, plus extensive international travel and holidays, plus lifetime golden pensions) is bloody expensive to the taxpayer.
Queen Elizabeth II was a fount of knowledge, wisdom and experience, and could always be counted upon as a beacon of resiliency in tough times. King Charles would seem to be a fount of ... well ... very little.
