Seriously go easy on the alcohol. It can fuck you up so badly and make everything even worse. I have a family member going through major health problems and a life of alcoholism has made it much, much worse for him. I'm not really close with him, but I do think this is worth learning from. A fucked liver is not fun to have.

Are You Using the WRONG Image Format?

My understanding was that PNG is FLAC and JPG is MP3. We've seen so many advancements in both audio and video codecs (e.g. Opus and H.264 and H.265, as well as upcoming ones like VP1) yet images, which are simpler than everything aforementioned, is still the same old, same old. Very ironic. In 2023, we still use uncompressed .gifs.

Given how storage is dirt cheap and grows cheaper seemingly every week, I do wonder if we should just move to lossless for everything.

rest in peace my old avatar, been rocking it for years now until elliotte took down all their art from the site due to dissatisfaction with how gender tags work here (which even with our efforts to make them more accommodating and inclusive, i still understand and sympathies with anyone who still doesn't feel comfortable with it)

even with this, i still adore their art and recommend anyone reading to support them and datahorde the shit out of their art

Am I the only one who thinks the Steam Summer Sale banner is kinda off? Like I think it's meant to be cutesy with a perky little beach scene front and center, but you also have whole cubic measures of concrete buildings with blatant AC units in the back and a ton of discarded junk keeling over in the waters.

I guess it symbolizes the Summer Sale as a sort of little oasis on the front page of Steam, but the implication it carries for the rest of the marketplace is uncanny.

either they didnt think it through or some valve employee was feeling PISSED OFF

I own a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones and out of all the headphones I've owned over the years (including more expensive ones) they are the best.

Oof, that price seems a bit too steep for me. I did find a pair of Robot earphones that while they're not the best quality, they're good enough for my ears to prevent them from complaining.

Also remember when I said I can't hear the really high pitched noise that certain electronics make? Turns out I can! It's my old earphones that can't pick them up!

These so-called "Extra Bass" earphones aren't as extra as much as they have radically chopped off the tops and haphazardly grafted it to the low frequencies and artificially inflated the basses.

I want my earphones to send me shivers through my skull whenever I reach that single bass note in Gorillaz's Clint Eastwood without making it sound like Del is rapping underwater through a pillow.

And yes, I know people are using this song to test their earphones because if you go to the album version on YouTube, there is a little bump on the audience retention graph around the 2:40 mark.

What in the 10 hell’s is with the Grimace Birthday Shake meme that’s been recently going on where people try the shake and then it transitions to the scene where they die on the spot. Is it good? Is it bad? .__.

PfFff! Most kids/mid-teens these days can’t read a simple god damn analog clock. They refer to their phones! That’s how old I am. 👴

Back in that day, I didn’t even own an iPhone. Just one of those nano iPods or the M-player that were hip. Shoot, I still have my very first Walkman!

And this when I was in Germany. So unless I own an iPhone 2 with German text, I had to learn the language.

It sure is convenient that you can discard rules you dislike, but leave in rules you really like.
You can even add your own rules if you want, even if the Bible says nothing about it. So much for the Word of God.

We could talk about Sodom and Gomorrah, but that story is so morally dubious for all parties involved that I don't understand why Christians even take it into consideration.

And I use the word "fascists" because people bigoted enough to "cancel" someone over drawing a rainbow usually have other extreme right-wing beliefs.
For example, believing that gay people must be "forcibly converted", and failing that – killed.

Ah, I see that you are a fan of the Book of Leviticus...

1. Why do you think I listed a new testament book (Cor)? Although Leviticus is a good source, you have to remember the new covenant established by Jesus Christ. Why do you think its ok for us to eat pork? How do you see all those clean-shaven catholic priests? All those oddly specific laws are only for the Jews of their time.
2. Fascists? Why such a word? I prefer calling them Extremists. They can cancle you while others praise you, and they can praise you while others cancel you. I only asked that question because my parents and my parish act in such a way to rainbows in modern day
3. On transgenderism, the bible does not say much about it. HOWEVER this is where we see problems with Sola Scriptura. Just because something is not said in the bible does not mean its not sinful to do so. Read the lives of the Saints!
I hope you find in your heart to think and read more. G.B

Ah, I see that you are a fan of the Book of Leviticus. I presume you also despise people who break its other prohibitions too, like:

  • Letting your hair become unkempt (10:6)
  • Eating any seafood without fins or scales (11:10-12)
  • Mixing fabrics in clothing (19:19)
  • Trimming your beard (19:27)
  • Cutting your hair at the sides (19:27)
  • Getting tattoos (19:28)
  • Mistreating foreigners (19:33-34)
  • Working on the Sabbath (23:3)
  • Selling land permanently (25:23)

Or is it just homosexuality that you hate?
Not lesbians, mind you. Leviticus says nothing about them.
No mention of trans people either, for that matter.

And as for your other argument, I'm glad to know where you stand.
That you would rather bend over backwards to appease fascists rather than risk offending them.
Then again, it sure is convenient that you also object to the thing that would offend them. You have that in common.

Yes, I too am familiar with the concept of "paradox of tolerance".
The answer to that is that if we wish to build a fair and just society, we cannot permit intolerance.
Demagogues would consider that a contradiction. Reasonable people would consider that necessary.

1. Ahh, ok. I understand. Thanks for telling me that. It clears up my view of politics. /srs

2. Yes, that is true, but I dont want to be scrutinized by the FAR far right (That is, all the "Anti-woke people")

3. Although The Bible does teach to love one another, what it does teach is to not "do as thou will". We hate sin, not sinners. Try reading Genesis, the story of Sodom and Gomorrah; Leviticus, rules to be good and faithful (No Adultery, No Homosexuality (including m/m and f/f), No feral beastiality); and Corinthians, which is all about love!

I hope im able to help you guide you in the right direction. Thank you for being respectful btw!

If depicting rainbows makes you uncomfortable, that is a problem with you. It is not about being a Christian. In the Bible, a rainbow is one of the symbols of God's love for us.
The ideology that causes some Christians to despise LGBT people has very little to do with Christ's teachings. The Bible does not really support that – traditions do.
If I were you, I would question why you should be peer pressured by dead people.

I am not a liberal, by the way. Not sure where you got that from.
But that's besides the point.

May God bring you many, many years

In response to Cinder's "Bigot" remark, I have some words.

Isn't liberalism all about free ideas? Personally, im just speaking my mind. Its not an issue of myself, but rather of audience.

Respectfully: If you dont practice what you preach, does that not make you a hypocrite?

One thing i hate about summer is flies you leave a window open and it will find its way in and then bounce off the window then im spending 30 mins trying to chase it out and its slways the biggest and loudest ones too it got squashed in the end

Houseflies aren't the worst insect during that season, but they're close. Stink bugs, centipedes, wasps, winged cockroaches, moths, those bloodsuckers that live in trees and that you need a special tool to remove, bed bugs and mosquitoes are far worse.
