Just today I noticed my blacklist wasn't remembered when I saw the Posts page (I always visit without logging in). I liked how esix remembered my entire blacklist without me having to log in or copy/paste it every single time.

Anyone else had this problem? Any tips? owo

Edit: It's worse than I thought at first. I have to re-paste my blacklist every time I move to another page! xD So going from Page 1 to 'Page 2' or 'Popular By Day,' my blacklist is empty. x_x

I have Extend also, though I'm not sure if it's causing it. I'll be sure to bring this up in the Extend thread too.

Found and fixed this problem. The blacklist will be working again as expected after our next deploy

Thank you! So glad it wasn't something wrong on my end xD

Edit: I don't usually watch for it so I don't know, when will your next deploy be? Is there a page I can watch for that news? owo

This Sunday most likely, otherwise keep an eye on the changelog.

Bug: The Preview button for Dmails seems to be broken.

Expected behavior: The message appears on the screen with all formatting shown correctly.

Actual behavior: Loads an infinite page of nothing.

Steps to duplicate: Type a Dmail and click the Preview button.

Additional info: I'm using Firefox and Windows 7.

Same thing applies for Blip reply form and New Blip page. Can confirm using Firefox 44.0.1 under Linux Mint 17.3.

Bug: Uploaded images fail to upload.

Expected Behaviour: The image appears on the index and the image's data page and in the download link for the image.

Actual behaviour: The image is replaced by its tag listing on both the index and the data page and the download link throws up a 404 (Not Found) error.

Steps to Duplicate: See post #826704 for an example.

We also have a fix ready for this. Or rather we figured out which server was doing it and fixed (hopefully) all of the posts that were affected. Let us know if you find any other posts that do this.

Bug: The Aryanne tag is used for both the artist and the mlp OC.

Expected behavior: Different tags for the Aryanne_(artist) and Aryanne_(mlp)

Actual behavior: They are jumbled together like my parents' marrage.

Steps to duplicate: There are none, 100% probability.

aryanne_(mlp) was aliased to aryanne_(character) because only canon characters get the _(mlp) suffix. You should be able to search/tag with either and the correct one will come up automatically.

We've got a fix ready for this.

FWIW, this bug also happens when trying specifically to "preview notes" when editing an artist's wiki. Since this is a weirdly out of the way place, mentioning it here just in case it wasn't covered in the existing fix yet. (Previewing normal wikis works fine tho, I checked.)

Bug: Cannot upload file named grriva_зета

Expected Behavior: File would upload from source

Actual behavior: File not found 404 error

Steps to duplicate: I expect this happens with any not-in-English Greek letters. For now, I'll just upload the old fashioned way.

Bug:
If you click the "?" next to an artist tag for an artist that doesn't have an artists entry yet, you get a "He's dead Jim."

Expected Behaviour:
It redirects me from /artist/show?name=sorimori to /artist/create?name=sorimori but doesn't actually show the creation page.

Actual behaviour:
As I said, "He's dead, Jim" plus Give this to an admin to report the issue: 2aba38ce21b5f881e72cd8ad627625a8 if that helps at all.

Steps to Duplicate:
Go to a post like post #827861 in this case for me, click the "?" next to the sorimori tag.
Actually just going to https://e621.net/artist/show?name=sorimori directly triggers it aswell.
(On artists that already have an artist page it works fine)

There's a fix for this ready. Basically it just doesn't like the ?name= part. When you delete that it works fine.

I don't know if this was mentioned, but whenever I press the "preview" button when composing a dmail, it goes to a blank white screen as if it's loading a page.

We're aware of this bug. Why it affects some preview buttons and not others...I haven't been able to figure out. Unfortunately I can't reproduce it offsite, so my ability to play with it is kind of limited.

That being said, I'll push for us to get a fix out for this as soon as possible.

Bug: Blacklist doesn't seem to apply, favorite system isn't working.

Expected behavior: Blacklist should be filtering out blacklisted posts, and favorite should work, as the favorite system should, i.e. green and red button.

Actual behavior: Blacklist doesn't work at all, and favorite system shows both green AND red button, clicking them does nothing but scroll me back to the top of page.

Steps to duplicate: Not sure.

Bug: List of posts in set when editing set is not parsed properly, saving without updating erases all posts.

Expected behavior: Saving without updating should result in no change, format should be e.g.:

6328
11193
11885

Actual behavior: Saving without updating deletes all posts from set, format is e.g.:

["6328\n", "11193\n", "11885\n"]

Steps to duplicate: Create a set, add a few posts, go to post_list ("Edit Posts") for created set, click "Update", see results.

---

Bug: No pagination links for this newly created set: set:c_balls_outline (note that supplying &page=x still works). Other sets seem to work.

Expected behavior: Pagination links at bottom

Actual behavior: Nothing

Steps to duplicate: ? (set:c_balls_outline)

Sounds like your computer is having trouble completing the page download. Pages show both the +Favorite and -Favorite buttons before they finish loading and remove one, and Blacklists only get applied after the image list loads.

That sounds like it's related to caching. The same thing will happen (but in reverse) if you delete a ton of tags at once. For example, when bulk removing invalid_tag I often see a lot of pagination even though the tag is empty. You just have to give the system a chance to recount them.

I haven't tested it, but you may be able to bypass the cache by adding a search term (e.g., a query that has never been searched before). Something like set:c_balls_outline -atagthatdoesntexist should work without affecting the actual results.

Yup, just me being impatient as it works now. Although, it can be a bit confusing, so it might be interesting to note as a low priority bug, if even fixable at all, if not it's something one can learn to live with.

A simple fix might be to implement a next button even if number of pages isn't/can't be calculated, and in case query matches no posts one simply excludes the next button as well. Only problem with this approach is that one might end up at an empty page in case matched post count is a multiple of per page count, depending on implementation.

Well that's god damn strange. I was absolutely sure when i last checked before making the post that my script blocker had already allowed e621, as it was perfectly fine the day before. It had apparently started blocking it again.

Works again, thanks.

Bug: Omission of a set in searches sometimes results in certain posts from said set appearing anyway.

Replication: I created a test set and compared the results of searching for a tag by itself, the tag and the set at the same time, and the tag while blocking the set. I have no idea what these posts have in common with eachother, so it may not occur all the time.

Some examples: -set:testomit miss_piggy, -set:testomit order:id_desc kokkoman, and -set:testomit order:id_desc lonbluewolf

Sets are currently unreliable for the purpose blacklisting with the minus operator.

I believe the bug is that the image shows up again for every set it's in. Telling it -this_set still reveals it when it's in +that_set.

Bug: Quotation marks and square brackets for post tags aren't spaced properly in forum or post comments.

Expected behavior: Spaces typed before/after quotation marks or tag markup showing up in the finished post on forums and submissions.

Actual behavior: Spaces disappear after hitting the "Post" button, so it looks like the sentence is run-together. However, doing a null edit after posting makes them appear as they're supposed to.

Steps to duplicate: Regular posting of material with either quotation marks or tag markup.

[edit] Not just tag markup, the Bug line above didn't have the space I had typed in after the closing bold tag, on my initial sending of this post.

This is a known issue. It's actually just a temporary display issue that only shows up for the poster. If you refresh the page it will be formatted correctly.

It's annoying and confusing but otherwise harmless.

Attempted a few times over a period of about seven minutes to upload a jpg, but got "500" errors.

So simplified the upload (simplified down to one tag and removed source URLs) and got
"He's dead, Jim
Something went horribly wrong...
Give this to an admin to report the issue: 3088a54ba8c65256bbcda782c7113091 "

edit: attempted to upload from a copy of the jpg on my computer and got "500 Internal Server Error".

Then tried uploading (same image) with putting image URL into "Upload from URL" and this time the thumbnail appeared (some previous attempts the thumbnail didn't appear which is why i tried switching to "Upload File" from computer.

Updated by anonymous

I am getting the "HTTP 500 Internal Service Error" as well. I tried uploading something over the course of 10 minutes or so, but got that error every time.

Did something change with pools recently? Found at least one bug, maybe two:

Bug 1:
On this page, the far righthand column is listed as "Locked" and the overwhelming majority of pools are listed as "Yes". Except most of those are actually UNlocked, if you open them and check the settings on them. (unlocked is good, btw) But having that page list everything as locked instead of their actual status is really strange site misbehavior. Also seems like a new bug.

Bug 2:
It also seems to be weirdly peckish now about letting you UNlock a pool, sometimes taking multiple attempts before it will accept the change. And when it does, it seems hit or miss if it will change the listed status on the main pools page or still list the old status instead. (https://e621.net/pool/show/7416 for example was locked, took several edit tries to get the UNlocking change to stick, and still persists in claiming that it's locked on the main listing for it. Normally it would work on the first try for an admin).

So over all, something seems to be acting up.

Darned updates haha
They're needed but they always find a way to break something.

But yeah

I've been trying all day (where I live it's 10:37 PM right now (yes PM) and I've been trying since about 1 PM) to upload things from tumblr and my PC.

Also, I should note, for some reason when I put a tumblr URL into the Upload From URL box it said tumblr was not allowed for some reason. So I just saved the image and tried again. No dice.

I've been having the same problem with sources from d.facdn.net (furaffinity). It sometimes works when I open another tab to the upload page, with the other one still open.

There's definitely something wrong with pools.
Tried to add post #833144 to pool #7317 but it's locked now and I don't even get any links to modify the pool (edit, order or import).

Definitely weird. In the main listing it says it's locked, but when I go to edit it the "lock" ticky box is already unchecked. I've tried saving it as unchecked (unlocked) and it still lists as "locked", won't show up in the "add to pool" list on images, and I presume it acts locked to members.

I also tried to lock it, save it, then go back in to un-lock it. But when I went back in the ticky box was already un-checked again, so trying to actually lock it didn't actually save like it claimed. So it's stuck in a weird limbo, acting locked but not letting it be changed in either direction. That's at least the second pool I've seen do this same bug today. =/

Black magic.

Nah it's apparently just a combination of contrib+ bypassing the upload limit and hitting back and retrying. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not to potentially sound rude, but what (could of) happened that'd kill posting and pools?

It's commonly at the expense of other users too. He's quite thorough at finding larger versions of existing posts.

I can't upload, but I can still tag. But at the moment, I'm merely writing fanfiction.

Okay, uploading has been fixed. There was one bug that affected all uploads (File is an invalid content type:) which was apparently bypassed by hitting back and trying again, but there was also a second bug in the check that contributor+ users bypassed which is why ippiki and slyroon were able to upload.

Not sure why the ordering isn't working, I'll look into that now. Edit: Can you describe what pool it is and what you are seeing? I haven't been able to reproduce this.

We're working on reorganizing the code and pulling out a lot of legacy stuff (particularly from when anonymous users could still do stuff on the site). This update happened to focus on pool/post code. I should be able to get the changelog up sometime today if your curious about the specifics.

I'm doing this in the pool Aftertale. Trying to replace the deleted posts 92 and 117 with their better versions (in order of being post, descending) but any time I try, it sends me to error 500, telling an admin to "read this web application's log file"

Whoops, that one was my fault. A fix has been sent, I'll see if we can get it pushed ahead of schedule.

Huh, I'm not sure what was going on but it seemed to work for me. Here's what I did:

  • Renumber 92 and 117 with 192 and 1117, renumber the better versions with 92 and 117.
  • Delete the last 2 from the pool.

Did you do anything different than this?

Edit: Ah, I see what you did. Yeah, you can't delete posts by leaving the number box blank, you have to renumber them (or just keep the same number, but I find that more confusing than just sticking it at the end). I'll make a note to make the site give a more helpful message when one of them is left blank.

I decided to try using private sets to keep track of various tagging projects.
But... Filtering posts by -set:<number> or -set:<name> doesn't seem to do anything. Even though the Tag Cheat Sheet says that it should work.

One example: I created set #3371 to filter out tentacle_monsters that I've already checked, but -set:3371 doesn't filter out anything. Am I doing something wrong, or is this simply not working as described?

Possibly related to the previous report: some posts show up twice in (set?) searches. For example: I searched for riding -set:3375 order:random and several posts (such as post #727456) were listed twice on the same thumbnail page...

Negating sets does weird things for some reason. I still haven't quite figured out why but I know it's affected by how many sets a post is in.

That does seem like a nice way to organize tagging projects though. I'm going to have a poke at this now and see what else I can figure out.

Indeed.
Would be useful for tags that need to be cleaned often. Such as orgy: someone confused orgy with gangbang again, and mass tagged it to old posts.

So now I have to manually check every single post tagged as orgy for the umpteenth time. That'd be far easier if it were possible to filter those with sets: I could just add the properly tagged ones to a set, then filter those out the next time it needs checking to easily spot the new additions.

Finally uploaded the pictures I wanted to upload, but I did get the error once after trying to upload the third picture. I tried it a second time and had no issues, but the random error occurring seemed worth mention.

Error 500 when uploading on e921

Bug: Uploading image results in Error 500, pressing Back results in Invalid Post

Expected behavior: Expected to upload the image, and then be directed towards the new post.

Actual behavior: After uploading an image, I am greeted with a 500 error. Reloading the page redirects you to:

http://e926.net/post/show?id=#<Proc:0x0000000370cbe8@/home/e621/e926-production/releases/e621/app/controllers/post_controller.rb:15 (lambda)>

which results in "Post Not Found".

Steps to duplicate: Upload an image from the computer.

Variables: OS Linux (PeppermintOS 06), Google Chrome 48.0.2564.116
