You wanna talk about superior vocal covers

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndV6uId9KPE

This is one of the few I've ever heard that's thousands of times better than the original, and considering who's on the original that's quite the margin to surpass

Marko Laiho from Beherit still has one of the most unique voices ever pressed to wax (or in this case tape); I really like his paean to the earliest furries along with the egyptian race of gods, the sumerian Anunnaki

Puts it pretty succinctly in that 40-second intro:

Satan represents man as just another animal
Sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all fours
Who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development”
Has become the most vicious animal of all[/b]
Sleep......

Unable to find the proper links right now but some of my favorites are...
The Armored Core Verdict Day Soundtrack
Celldweller's work, especially his End of an Empire. Good artist, and the only one I know who has a song called "Heart On".
Slipknot
Disturbed
Combichrist
Noisia

a number of the AC games have good soundtracks but unfortunately, From, likes to use that sound system where the BGM dims heavily whenever any other noise is occurring in they're games (this is quite obvuious in the dark souls games where merely walking/running dims the BGM a lot.). said system gets pretty annoying after a while. i think they did that even as far back as the psx AC games.

oh wow lol it sounds like an old atari space shooter game...or something similar. nice find.

edit: oh yeah. i finished playing through Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance not long ago. great soundtrack. plenty of good songs and pretty good game too. well, it's certainly a different approach to metal gear (more like devil may cry) but not bad at all.

seeing Raiden grab and throw a modified Metal Gear Ray clear into the sky only to chop it up was awesome. :) sure had a tough final boss though. who knew senators could put up such a hard fight. lol ah well, that's technology for you.

Recently, I've gotten my hands on Zootopia (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack). And outside of "Try Everything" being an enjoyable track, some of the music in the soundtrack sounds like it would fit in a porno.

...Sadly, I'm not surprised by that.

You might really dig Fad Gadget using a lot of the same power electronics, his debut was actually the first single on Mute Records - along with Throbbing Gristle one of the elder statesmen of industrial music (though his post-punk slant sounds undeniably cooler)

It's pretty much anthropologically confirmed this is the foundation of all modern music, because it fuckin rules.

You ever hear of the Atlanta Rhythm Section? I just picked up the Champagne Jam LP only because it had a blunt-smoking anthro fish on the cover, and managed to have still stayed shrinkwrapped since '78. The 'hit single' Imaginary Lover sounds like it was written about e621, but the lead-off track Large Time has to be the like coolest thing I've ever heard from the bayou....gottdamn what a riff

Apparently the ARS used to be huge around the south, I'm surprised I never heard of them when I lived in Virginia

I love lots of different music, primarily metal but I recently expanded my tastes. I started to dig a lot into avantgarde, jazz fusion, prog rock, etc.

Okay I'm not even kidding here, despite its entire legacy having survived through 'ironic' viewings ––– but "Forgetting You", the credits theme to Manos: The Hands of Fate is just, really....really good.

I'm totally serious

pure 1966 jazz lounge, this is where it's fuckin at

I've been finding all sorts of cool things recently.

In part due to you guys, but also just in general.

Labbayk - Allahu

An Islamic Nasheed. Interesting to me because of the diversity of languages that it is sung in. I like when that sort of thing is done for a reason, and not just as a gimmick.

Franz Schubert - Ave Maria

You guys know this song, I'm sure, but it is still really enjoyable to listen to. Two religious songs in a row. Maybe I needed a cleansing after "petting zoo".

Swimming, Anyone?

Phoenix Wright has probably already been mentioned in this topic somewhere. A lot of the music is great as game music - fits the mood and all, but not as enjoyable to listen to by itself. Damon Gant's theme though is just enjoyable to me.

Message From God - Project Genesis

I found Juno Reactor's Navras recently (you know the song, if not the name - it's the famous epic song from the Matrix), and I decided to look up what genre it is. Goa Trance, apparently. So I decided to look up Goa Trance and this is one of the things I found. Pretty catchy. And, at least if you go by the name, a third religious song. Weird.

i just remembered something in my music folder that may be rather fitting given e621's content and it's dragon overlords. :P

Kitsune² - Yiff Yiff Yiff

edit: the 4th and newest ending theme for Dragon Ball Super, Forever Dreaming. pretty nice sounding song.

unlike DBZ where i saw the whole series dubbed, this time i've been keeping up with each new episode subbed as they are added here. pretty good series overall so far.

I finally, finally beat the Flagship on FTL for the first time.

Probably would have gone quicker if I tried to figure things out on Normal before going straight to Hard, but it makes the achievement so much sweeter.

Anyway, FTL has some great music. Here's my favorite track:

Ben Prunty (FTL) - Cosmos (Battle)

BadAss: Boss Themes: Volume III the 3rd and final volume of this trilogy.

heh, think i found my favorite of this albums tracks: Disc 1, Track 10. >:)

maybe i should give some of the Advance Wars games another go sometime.

edit: so...i finished downloading one of Witchfinder General's albums, 1983 - Friends Of Hell. pretty good album overall. i'll check out the other 2 albums later.

i also checked them out on wikipedia and the ending of that movie the band is named after sounds brutal (see bottom of the plot section).

Some of my favorite bands
Cradle of filth ,stay,Nymphetamine, tearing the veil from grace
Eluveitie, everything remains as it never was, rose for epona,Tegernako, silver sister,I actually love every Eluveitie song really.

Tarja turunen, my little Phoenix, frozen in time
Night wish, amaranth, wish I had an angel, ghost love score
Within temptation, ice queen, memorys, dangerous(I also like killswitch engage)
Septic flesh, pyramid god sangreal, oceans of grey

So yeah those are most of my favorites but I listen to lots of different types of music sorry none of these are linked but I don't think the ps4 can do that. Also has anyone played karmaflow it's a pc game but for the soundtrack a bunch of bands I like got together and formed one fantastic super band.

sounds pretty good. don't think i've seen that movie before.

edit: checking a few other tracks from that channel (same movie) and that's a nice soundtrack. also, seeing some of the screenshots shown in the videos makes me curious about the animation quality of newer episodes.

last i saw on toonami here in the US, we're still probably around 5-7+ years behind current releases of the series (much like with one piece) and that's quite unlikely to change.

i know the animation quality shown in DBZ: Battle of Gods and Frieza's Revival were substantially higher quality than the old DBZ and maybe DBGT series (DBS isn't quite as fancyas those movies but it's still an improvement over those older series.). so i'm curious of how good the newer naruto episodes are nowadays if the creators of that series improved a lot as well. i may need to pick a spot and start watching subbed naruto as i did with one piece.

then again (just checked the wiki) maybe naruto isn't quite as far back as one piece on toonami. one piece is still all the way back to the Thriller Bark saga in when they first land on the island i think or a few episodes past that point. still, that's at least 5 years behind the subs.

It's just like that the animation of the weekly episodes is quasi-subpar but the movie was really good like they were back to the quality they had during the first part of the story.

Don't know what you guys think of the family of electronic music related to dubstep (basically everything from Monstercat), but I liked this song.

Aero Chord - Break Them

I can't say I have particularly good taste in that sort of music but occasionally something seems interesting of that sort.

And for contrast, here's some Prog Rock, introduced to me by Phylax:

Rush - 2112

And apparently I never linked this, but it is one of the things that earns a perfect ten on the weirdness scale. A guy ranting in French over whalesong and other instruments about liberarian utopias or something like that:

Leo Ferre - Il n'y a plus rein

Anyway, when it comes to music, I have a rather random and fractured interest. Some things I've been listening more than once lately:

Uppermost - Left Unsaid
Casey LaLonde - Heartfelt
Aurastys - Don't Be Shy
Arena - How Did It Come To This?
Halley Labs Associates - Rail Trail
Darius - Forest Spirit Beckons
The Queenstons - Going Back (feat. Casey LaLonde) [REMASTERED]
Five Star Hotel - BURIED SEA CUT (warning: loud)
Arena - One Last Au Revoir
Aurastys - Circle One
Casey LaLonde - Through Mountains

for CRYING OUT LOUD, YOUTUBE! WTF is wrong with your site? why does almost NOTHING on that entire site work properly over 50% of the time?!

when i click "PLAY" it does NOT mean you should sit there doing nothing even AFTER the video is fully buffered! i am SO sick and tired of this horse shit broken garbage setup they have. it's like i can't even go a few hours without something on the craptastic site falling apart on me.

if it's not the video player it's something else broken. i don't care if they "make youtube great again", i just want the site to function properly as intended. is that too much to ask for?

edit: "If playback doesn't begin shortly, try restarting your device." and that's a problem on my end...why? oh i hate that site SO much. i wish there was a worthwhile alternative SO badly.

It still amuses me how the first tracks from one of the world's seminal power metal bands, were actually on a split called Death Metal.

But then the Black Metal of Venom's days has precious little to do with it now, so maybe it'd be fair to call early Helloween part of the 'first wave' (ha)
