Topic: eSix Extend (V3.02) - A script that does good stuff to your user experience!

I'm sorry to be a bother, but your script only seems to work for me on e621 when I'm either in a different browser (I normally use Pale Moon x64, a variant of Firefox, but I tried in Firefox as well) or private browsing. Being logged in or out seems to have no impact. I'm able to use it with e926 regardless of how I'm visiting the website. Conversely, it doesn't seem to work at all on 20PC or AGNPH.

I've no clue what's causing it to not show for me on e621 and I've cleared my cookies for this website and my cache. I'm attempting to figure out exactly which settings change when switching to private browsing mode so I don't end up deleting any more than I have to because I assumed too much, but I also wanted to ask you for help since you're the developer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good catch! Yeah, turns out that the easter egg was conflicting with the other sites! (I just tested it here! XP)

Ah ok, I guess the good news is that sounds like a much easier fix than my guess would have been. And no worries, just when you have the time. (It's not very urgent.) And good luck with your classes/tutoring session!

It's fixed :3

Now, onto Munk's case!

So... Multiple keyboard layout support... but only two options. Let's make that three by adding Hungarian (hu-HU) to the list. Though I have this feeling that nobody will be actually using it :P

http://pastebin.com/SX6bf0mQ
Format:

<KeyName>\t<KeyCode>\t<KeyChar>

I know it's a long list, but the most important ones are the Oem keys, feel free to ignore the rest. Also, the Enter key might cause a hiccup in the formatting (empty line).

Woah, thanks! Oh, don't worry about some keys ('Enter', for example), it's good the fact that you added them, just in case. I have some already so I'll just have to merge them wih the main table :)

So, I just tried this script... How could I live without it??
And it works along my thumbnail preview script :)

Keep up the amazing work

I don't know what easter egg you're referring to but, after looking at the Error Console and doing a bit of research on the errors related to the script that I was getting, I increased the value of "dom.storage.default" and disabled all of my extensions. It works now and I've started re-enabling the ones I was actively using one by one, but I've still no clue which one was causing the problems.

Anywho, now I can actually test out your script!

Woot! Just an info bit: I haven't posted the new update yet. It should come around when I merge the info EsalRider sent, add a function to facilitate submitting of new keysets and some other things.

lower-right... it'll last 'till 'morrow!

Ma-na ma-na. *do doo do do doo* Update!

[08/09/14] Version 2.94 (Code 140908, +4010)

  • Updated DNP Database to version 251

Moved userbar 2 pixels down on AGNPH to make the line in the main bar continuous
Also added a new submission form for new key sets (help me help you!)
Pressing [Esc] while changing a hotkey will now revert it back and unselect the box
Fixed "Get Source" link to Google Search not returning anything [forum #137563]
Fixed hotkeys not working on posts with the newest file type webm [forum #137595]
Fixed issue where the script would fail to load on 20PC and AGNPH [forum #137616]
Fixed blacklisting a single tag from the tags listing on 20PC and AGNPH
"Get Source" will now notify you that Flash or WebM aren't compatible with it (they don't have a specific thumbnail)
Fixed the dragging handle for the floating formatting buttons (double clicking its space will pop them out, for those who didn't know. Double clicking again will return them to their original position)
@Site Devs: Every request the script makes will now include which version is being used
Added Hungarian key set for hotkeys (Thanks EsalRider!)
Removed Commemorative Easter Egg (this script is now officially 2 years since September 3rd)

There it is! I'd stay a bit more to chat a bit, but I have to sleep~ Good night! :3

@EsalRider: I've added the new key set, I just need you to tell me if the symbols display correctly (they should but I dunno)

I've upgraded eSix Extend to version 140908, but Google Search still doesn't work on post #530823.
If I search for the pic with Search by Image for Google, I get 1 result (yesterday, it was 4 results - I guess images can disappear from Google's radar again).
But if I search for the pic with e621's Reverse Google Search or with eSix Extend's Google Search, I get no results.

I think the problem is that both e621's Reverse Google Search and eSix Extend's Google Search use a really small thumbnail:
https://static1.e621.net/data/preview/bc/9b/bc9b5e45168489a6c2278072aa8a0a98.jpg
On the other hand, Search by Image for Google uses the image that's displayed in the browser, which is either an image sample ("Show image samples - If enabled, images that are wider/taller than 800px will be replaced with a reduced-size image") or the full image.

You should get an honorary title or something.
Or by the very least some kind of influence on the vanilla website code.

What about Flash posts where the source contains a direct link to Furaffinity?
https://e621.net/post/index/1/source:facdn%20type:swf

I haven't been able to find any Flash posts where the source contains *only* a direct FA link, but I'm sure they exist.

The flash is still up on FA, you can find it by searching for:

Yeah, I noticed that after posting. Strangely, this works for me on Firefox but not in Opera or Chrome, where Google takes me to the main page. Also, before fixing, the script used to take the image's sample version instead of the preview which worked most of the time...

I couldn't fix it at the moment because it was a bit late so I'll take a look at it later.

Well... Aurali said that she was going to improve the navigation bar, but I guess that idea is out of table and tony thought that the character counter was a neat idea...

Not for FA search, because it only searches for keywords.
You could keep the search function on Flash posts if you disabled all search options except for FA search.

Noticed a mostly cosmetic bug that started at some point in roughly the last 12-24 hours. I actually noticed it before updating to the newest version of the script, so it may not have anything to do with the script update itself. I don't know. Anyways, the little nav bar at the top right-hand corner of every screen is listing my favorites as only numbering "10". Nearly gave me a heart attack. Checking on my profile it's actually supposed to be right around 1645 favorites. I do know that it used to list the correct number as recently as yesterday. Anyways, it's cosmetic, but wanted to let you know about it.

ETA: I don't know if I posted prematurely or what. It now lists 1607 favorites on the navbar. Which is a lot closer than "10" but still different than the 1645 it lists on my profile. Scrolling through my favorites manually, I don't see any "deleted" thumbs, so I guess there's no way to know how many I'd faved that have been since deleted, and I suppose it's possible that might explain the difference in numbers between 1607 and 1645 depending on how it's calculated? Just a guess.

Well, my current indicator shows 6420 but it's the previous version (the one I have on my phone). It should update on every page refresh to reflect your current count (a little bit less because it doesn't count deleted posts)

I'm starting to think the half-hour or so it showed "10" was some kind of temporary glitch that I maybe should have waited an hour before posting about it, to see if it would correct itself as mysteriously as it appeared. My bad. It does seem to have fixed itself. And I'm willing to bet the discrepancy between the # of favorites on my profile (probably includes deleted images) and the # of favorites in the navbar (not including deleted images) are probably both accurate just calculated differently and I'd never noticed that before. Sorry to bother you. I just was surprised when I saw it listing "10" on every page and CTRL+F5 didn't seem to touch it. I didn't expect it to fix itself within the hour though, but I guess that can't be helped. Again, sorry for the now moot report.

Nah, it's okay to clear doubts. And yeah, the number of faves in your profile takes both active and deleted posts (pretty much everything, searching for fav:furrypickle status:any should return them all) and the counter in the bar displays just the active posts (you can choose between displaying active only or active and deleted posts in your settings).

Retrieving the new count usually takes about 20-30 minutes...

It showed the correct count for some time, but it's now back to 10.
I have a theory though, could it be that the 10 are the number of pages with favorites?
Don't know how many post Furrypickle faved since he posted this cause he's currently at 11 pages.

Awesome, I've always wondered how to view the ones that were deleted. And the rest is good to know. Thanks for being so cool about it.

Interesting. It's like an unwanted relative, going around and visiting different users by turns without actually being invited by anyone.
For the record, I may have favorited one post since I posted that so probably not enough to change anything significantly. And for me, it's still showing the normal 1607 number in my navbar, the phantom "10" hasn't returned since for me *knock on wood*. When it happened for me it lasted maybe an hour and then randomly returned to normal. It's actually got me a little curious, but it's weird enough it may remain unsolved.

ETA: by the way, the number of pages will vary depending how many thumbs you have it set to show per page in your settings. So it may not be related. But you could test it by changing that setting temporarily so that the page number in your favorites would change and see if the "10" changes to a different number. I doubt they're linked but the bug isn't active for me right now so I can't test anything about it.

I don't think so, the script makes a request for only one post and takes the count already listed there, so it might be a bug on e621's end. I don't have 10 displaying there, so I can't test it either :/

Let's just leave it as "that one unwanted relative no one expects" :)

Can you add harry.lu to the Get Source menu?
The link is in the lower left corner of every post, under "Related Posts".

Updated by anonymous

I just noticed that the HTTP Tweak isn't applied to the Get Source menu.

Using post #532011 as an example:
If you have the tweak enabled in the settings, eSix Extend should use this link:
http://google.com/searchbyimage?image_url=http://static1.e621.net/data/preview/ce/99/ce997504b3350ecf4aed06da10b9709c.jpg
But instead it uses:
http://google.com/searchbyimage?image_url=https://static1.e621.net/data/preview/ce/99/ce997504b3350ecf4aed06da10b9709c.jpg
(the difference being the "http" vs. "https" in the image_url)

Without the tweak, e621 often fails to display images and/or thumbnails.
So maybe Google Search by Image won't be able to load them, either.
This could become a bigger problem if you switch Get Source from using thumbnails to using image samples ("Show image samples - If enabled, images that are wider/taller than 800px will be replaced with a reduced-size image").

If that gets added, then the menu itself will need to be renamed ("Search..." maybe), as it's mainly a dupe/edit finder, not a source finder.

I just noticed that the HTTP Tweak isn't applied to the Get Source menu. (...)

That problem seems to be connection specific. I, for example, haven't encountered this image-not-loading phenomenon for quite some time. So I don't think it would be needed to change the image URL in the reverse image search links.

Hmmm, that could be the issue... I'll check this later and confirm this.

Or if you're of the tinkerer type, go to your script manager edit the script, search for 'sozURL' and change the 'https' to 'http' (you can also search for 'Get Source' but the first one takes you directly). Have in mind that editing the script will disable auto updates but I'll still let you know when a new one is up!

Also, now that I see it, I need to make that site-aware (not all sites have the same images) and reorder some things in that same area...

So I got a visit from our favorite unwanted relative and, besides unwanted, unopportunate because I'm on my phone... :I

But anyways, I have my methods! >:)

Apparently, this bug is in e6's side (whoo! not my fault! :3 ) where it seems to forget that I'm requesting only one post (because I don't want to overload the server). Well, not really, because it does return that one post but the count is set to 10. We'd have to relay this bug to the main bug report thread...

It is. Though it can be tremendously useful for finding dupes or variants already on the site.

It's also helpful if you find an image that you're sure you've seen before, but the two aren't linked and there's no artist or character tagged to lead you to the older one.

Sorry I might have skipped this at the moment...

Maybe adding Harry.lu would be useful for cross-posting between AGNPH or 20PC to e621, right?

Also, I haven't tested the fix yet... it's there along some other changes but I don't have enough time lately (to use my laptop, at least)...

There may be a way for me to do this already, or it may have been requested earliet, but I couldn't find either of those so here we go :P

Would it be possible to add some kind of notification to the "Replies to your comments' and "Comments on your posts" links in the top bar? I know that e6 doesn't exactly track new messages like facebook or FA or whatever, so I don't really even know if it's possible. But if it is possible, I was thinking something simple like just bolding the text or changing the color to indicate that there's been an update since the last time you checked.

I could make that, when a custom link matches a certain criteria check data about it... but that'd be for the next version, since I have prepared one for today (it's actually ready since yesterday, I have a tab sitting there for a bit more than day ._. )

It isn't really possible to bold the text since it's already bolded. Maybe change the color... I'll debate over what change to do, since they're pretty much static

Alright! Fixes done and changes made! I hope everything is ok! Hmmm... that one sort of rhymed...

[14/09/14] Version 2.95 (Code 140914, +957)

  • Updated DNP Database to version 253

Changed the date format for "Script last modification date" in the About section
Changed the display of custom links in the preferences page. They're now numbered
Added a small workaround for the "10 posts in your faves" bug. The server returned 10? Don't worry! The script will do as if it saw nothing
Actually implemented the 10 custom links limit. Before this, you could have 99 links but one problem (some would be unaccessible)
Added support for Flash and Video posts to Get Source
Added DeviantArt as source for post source URLs in the form of "fav.me/1m4geC0d3"
By the way, Get Source is now "Find Source"
Improved Find Source menu with options that are relevant to the post (reverse image searching options will be hidden on Flash/Video posts because they have no thumbnail or image) [forum #137975]
"HTTP Tweak" will now be applied to reverse image searches [forum #138173]
Fixed bug when showing notifications or errors in 20PC or AGNPH ("'warning' not defined" error)

I should've posted this since two days ago... my bad... but I finally did! :)
Now onto another bug that I discovered when adding a new pool subscription (missing thumbnail data)

When I use eSix Extend's SauceNAO search on post #535774, it uses this link:
http://saucenao.com/search.php?url=https://static1.e621.net/data/sample/f4/da/f4da8af49d34b12e6c91e409533e5305.jpg
(still using HTTPS instead of HTTP)

The SN server displays the following error message:
Specified file no longer exists on the remote server!
(same thing happens with the other search options, except for Inkbunny search)

Either of these links leads to a 404 page:
https://static1.e621.net/data/sample/f4/da/f4da8af49d34b12e6c91e409533e5305.jpg
http://static1.e621.net/data/sample/f4/da/f4da8af49d34b12e6c91e409533e5305.jpg

The reason is probably that the image's dimensions are 571x629.
It appears that only images taller and/or wider than 800 pixels have a reduced-size sample image.

It appears that only images taller and/or wider than 800 pixels have a reduced-size sample image.

That's because the sample url for that post does not exist. Since it's smaller than 800px, e6 doesn't need to generate a smaller one and takes the original version. I assumed all posts would have a sample image defined regardless of size, so that said, I need to make the script aware of a post's dimensions...

Updated by anonymous

I think I should mention something that I've noticed about these sample images.

From what I've seen, I'd say the description on the settings page is misleading. The sample images are generated with a maximum width/height of 800px, but for images that are taller/wider than 1000px. Some examlpes:

If there's anything that seems relevant, post it here.

Also, did you have any subscriptions?

The countSubsUpdates() function... Again...

This might be a problem with corrupted subscription data. Try this:

javascript:{localStorage.removeItem("poolSubscriptions");}

Copy-paste to the address bar, re-add the "javascript:" part if necessary, hit enter.
This will clear all of your pool subscriptions, and hopefully solve the problem. No promises, though.

I had to enter it in the console instead but it fixed it for now :D

Glad to hear it worked.

Though next time this happens, it'd be better to extract the corrupted data before deletion, but I have no idea how to do it in browsers other than Chrome.

Sorry for being missing here around the forums (and the blips). I've been having a bit of a hard time lately (both personally and with school) so I couldn't reply (I replied to a couple of messages, though)...

But worry not! Because, in between free times, I've fixed Munk's issue in forum #139209, made Find Source size-aware (as seen in forum #139237!), fixed the subscription counter, added German symbol set (submitted by JackThatBody), fixed key label "" in Firefox, post reordering via drag-and-drop for Sets and Pools, fixed display flag of flagged posts (Unicode flag not showing) by using an SVG graphic (didn't want to, but it was for the common good :) ) and lost 8 pounds!

I also want to thank EsalRider for helping boopboop while in my "absence". Thanks, dude!

EsalRider said:

This could be probably caused by missing thumbnail information on freshly added pool subscriptions (I haven't had any major problems with it, yet, but I'll fix it anyway just in case). This is what I'll be fixing next besides adding Tokaido's suggestion (forum #138848)

This one's a rather long but does it. It'll replace the current page with a table listing all elements in the localStorage (area where the script saves your settings). It works not just here, but everywhere too! For that, just add it as a bookmarklet (Bookmarks > New bookmark > Copy and paste everything from the box below to the URL/Address box > Give it a name > OK), use it and you're done! :)

javascript:(function(){var ls=window.localStorage,i,kn,rs=[];for(i=0;i<ls.length;i++){kn=ls.key(i);rs.push("<td>"+kn+"</td><td>"+ls[kn]+"</td>");}document.write("<table><tr>"+rs.join("</tr><tr>")+"</tr></table>");})();

TL;DR: I wasn't ded, just busy :)

Well, guess what? New update! And an announcement which is more like a message that should be read as a poem...

[14/09/14] Version 2.96 (Code 141001, +9448)

  • Updated DNP Database to version 254

Added a separator on the custom links editor to help identify up to which links are displayed on the user bar (first 10)
Replaced unicode Flag for flagged posts with a SVG graphic, for browsers which can't display it (any other than Opera). It should be visible now
Fixed IPFWYAANC ("in-page flash when you add a new comment" :V ) to fit neatly in the entire comment's area
Added error detection methods for Subscriptions/Settings/Custom links. This should catch the pesky "countSubsUpdates()" error and report it on your browser's Error Console
Improved handling of comments. The ID of each one should now always appear (between date posted and avatar)
Changed donate link to a button and moved it to the lower-right corner
Added a text box in "New Key Layout" for the new submitted language, so you can name it and help better (also, your current browser info will be sent but mostly its name)
Fixed usage of local storage not updated when importing settings
Fixes to Find Source:

    • Flash and video posts are now included based on source links

The "HTTP Tweak" setting will also be applied when looking for sources [forum #139209]
The appropriate image will now be selected based on the image size (sample if larger than 1000px, original otherwise) [forum #139209 / forum #139237]

  • Posts can now be reordered using drag and drop!
    • Sets: To reorder them go to any set you own or maintain, click on "Edit posts" at the navigation bar and wait for the posts to be listed

Pools: Go to any pool and click on "Order". Take in mind that the numbers on them will be replaced by their order

Improved key detection in Firefox and Chromium (no more "" as labels and better representation!)

Sooooo.... uh... how do I put it... umm... darn it, 'tis ain't th' place... ugh... this'll be hard :/

By the way, code is prepared for Tokaido's suggestion, I just need to focus more and connect the dots :)

I've updated to version 141001, and "Find Source - Google" doesn't work on post #533736

It uses the URL
http://static1.e621.net/data/sample/1a/76/1a766007c7915e5e563b6c742b00a797.jpg
=> "This URL does not refer to an image or the image is not publically accessible."

The actual URL it should use is:
http://static1.e621.net/data/1a/76/1a766007c7915e5e563b6c742b00a797.gif

Reason:
GIF's don't have reduced-size sample images. This applies to both animated and single-frame GIF's.
PNG's, on the other hand, do have reduced-size sample images (which are also PNG's).
Even animated PNG's, like post #307082
Only the thumbnails for PNG posts are JPG's.

---

"Find Source - Google" doesn't work on post #541398 either

It uses the URL
http://static1.e621.net/data/73/5c/735c18e58156fa434688ebe4a204e9c0.jpg

The actual URL it should use is:
http://static1.e621.net/data/73/5c/735c18e58156fa434688ebe4a204e9c0.png

Reason:
"Find Source - Google" uses the wrong file extension: JPG instead of PNG.
I haven't looked at the code, but maybe it's because e621's "Reverse Google Search" uses a post's thumbnails, which are always JPG's?

The script doesn't seem to be interested in updating the "last seen" values of forum subscriptions anymore. Haven't checked on pools yet.

Yup! e621 takes the posts thumbnails for the source URLs, which are JPG. I added a check for a post's file type on the script to handle those cases. So far, it did well on the examples you provided! :D

I hope you're not too busy because I have a feature request :)

Request:
Un-reverse the URL list when editing an artist

Explanation:
When you edit an artist and click "Save", e621 reverses the order of the links in the "URLs" field.
Try it with https://e621.net/artist/update/658
I've reported this bug, but it looks like it isn't getting fixed :(

The URL's are submitted in the right order, but the order is reversed on the server.
So I guess the solution would be to submit them in reverse order.

Alright, after testing, I've come to the conclusion that reversing the order on each commit would still invert it on saving (like you said, sumbitting as 1234 e6 would save it as 4321) but what if you come again, to maybe fix a typo or add another URL? So, given that situation, I've decided that it would be better sorting them alphabetically (z-a, so they're stored as a-z when saved) for the links to be consistent between commits.

In other news, Tokaido's suggestion is now up! :D I'm just doing some cleanup here and there to the script and will post the update when I'm done!

Watch out for this, at the maddest update! Mash up the place, put your hands up for this! Yo my furs, the number 1 on my list. I have a new update ye can not resist!

[13/10/14] Version 2.97 (Code 141013, +5293b)

  • Improved content detection. It should be more reliable now in regards of not running when viewing (downloading) images or JSON/XML requests

Updated DNP Database to version 255 (10/03/2014 01:43)
Fixed old pool tracking detection system (which I think it should be gone by now) to include thumbnail information
Made the New User/Settings Outdated messages a bit less annoying. Not choosing to check out/update your settings will dismiss the messages entirely and the script will run fine with default settings
Improved detection of comments (once again). This time minimized its code a bit and renamed an identifier, nothing much...
Removed some old site's unused styles from the settings (had no effect anyway)
Changed notification messages in the "Enhanced notifications" checkbox sub-label
New option! Collapse long comments: Quoting comments that are longer than the specified lines (or have more characters than lines x 100) will be wrapped in \

tags to reduce walls of text
Clarified logging setting's sub-label
Implemented custom link notifications. Links that match certain criteria will italicize after checking for updates. Currently, "Replies to your comments" and "bookmarked" post searches are supported [forum #138848]
Added labels to the top of the custom links list ("Delete" and "Skip") and a corresponding "Skip" button (Check for updates: ◇=Yes, ◆=No)
Adjusted the custom links list to have a fixed height (350px) limiting the view to up to 12 items so you won't have to scroll a lot when reordering
Fixed a huge typo in the about section (it was at the right, not at the left :I )
Pressing "Default" on the settings will now require confirmation and the settings stated there will be cleared
Fixed bug where forum subscriptions wouldn't be updated when visiting a forum you're subscribed to
Fixed blip character counter not coloring itself correctly. It should do it now
Improved post ID detection so hotkeys work better with MD5 Redirected links
Added a check for a post's type to help reverse image searching [forum #139963]
Links to Artists profiles will now be sorted (from Z to A, to work around a bug when saving changes) [forum #140209]
Optimized saving of settings. Old/Unused and unchanged settings will not get saved, saving space in your browser's WebStorage

I didn't thought I'd do so much stuff in just 10 days! Gee, it really felt as if I wasn't doing anything! :D

Latest version of Comodo Dragon. 33.1, that is. Pretty outdated compared to Google Chrome.

Seems like Comodo started developing another chromium-based browser, and Dragon's either abandoned (or will be) or left behind. I'll try it...

Edit: Yep, outdated browser. Though for a security solutions company not updating a browser that's marketed as a "more secure version of Google Chrome", that's a real shame. Even better, they promised an update in September that just didn't arrive yet.

First of everything, hello! Thank you for testing my script! I hope it has been of use to you.

Now, on the problem: That's a different error and from what it states, seems fairly new. After doing some testing, it looks like I need an authorization key (stated there as "auth token") for the script to make changes to your personal settings (such as adding tags to your blacklist). Currently, I can't fix or work around it since it's part of the site's security system, so it seems that I'll need to talk to the site's devs for a solution (and possibly get an API key, if the site allows that).

So for now, I'll release a patch a patch has been released that will -sadly- disable that feature entirely (well, reading it correctly, it isn't a patch because it removes something instead of changing it, but you get the idea). I'll get in contact with the devs tomorrow to see if we can get to a solution (unless they come over here and can chip in some details *crosses fingers*)

@EsalRider: Did you change your browser? It is really a shame that they didn't release the "final" version before changing plans or at least giving a notice of such decisions, but I hope you could get it solved

Yes I did. In theory, they're still developing Dragon, along with Chromium Secure, their newest Chromium-based browser. It's basically midway between Dragon and Google Chrome. Looks just like Chrome (not the icon, mind you), with improvements from Comodo. I'm using that right now. Ver. 36.1.1.3, Chromium base ver. 36.0.1985.97. I hope it remains functional between updates.

You're welcome! :)

Well, talked to a dev (this one, he's really cool once you know him) and for the moment there's no quick solution, given that the key is generated randomly and for that page only, so unfortunately, the individual tag blacklisting will be out for a while.

But worry not, because I'll adjust it to work like a checklist, where you will still be adding tags to that "list" to append it on your blacklist later so the feature isn't completely out. Let's say that it'll just be weakened a bit...

Updated by anonymous

Meep, meep! Mew update!!

[26/10/14] Version 2.971 (Code 141026, +5506b)

  • Updated DNP Database to version 257 (10/22/2014 03:55). Which is a bit redundant because an artist who wasn't on version 255 was added on version 256 but removed again in this one. We have to be up-to-date, aren't we?

Text areas should now fit the entire page width (or at least their respective holder) and will also have the same font as the page
When viewing tag histories for posts, tags that were removed will be dimmed
All of your current subscriptions will now be listed when clicking the "Subscriptions" link, so you don't have to go to your settings if you want to see them (you'd still have to go there to manage them). Subscriptions that have updated will be shown first with this color
New! Temporary blacklist. Instructions about it and what is are below
The notice box in the settings page is now dismissable!
New! Auto complete for TinyAlias!!
Improved key detection not only in the boxes that allow you to set them, but also in places that need them (pool navigation and hotkeys)
The check tag box will now replace spaces when added and not when checking if the tag you entered exists
Fixed a small bug that didn't checked when a flash was active. This addresses the issue where pressing a hotkey while playing a flash-based game would activate it. Now you can game safely! [PM]
New! Post search refiner. This adds a second search box that will allow you to refine even more your current search. Add a tag to it and watch irrelevant posts disappear! (At the moment it does not support metatags, may contain almonds)
Reordered a bit the formatting buttons to include the new formatting tags (as announced in forum #141266)
Floating panels with title (like the one that lists your subscriptions) can now be dragged around!
Added a quick-help icon for some error messages that display as notifications. Clicking it will bring a message with more information

So there you have it! A new, fresh update taken out from the oven! Below this post, you'll find information for the temporary blacklist.

Temporary blacklist

The temporary blacklist is a function to overcome the problem reported in forum #141254. But because I didn't want to remove the function entirely, I've decided to change it to what it is now. This change is in response to the site's security, namely the user settings section, where a key is required to be able to modify that area. Since for the time being there is no way to generate one (they're randomized and valid for a page only), I had to resort to this method.

How to use
Usage is the same as it did previously:

  • Clicking "X" before a tag name in the post listing or when viewing a post

Clicking "Blacklist post" on a post's page, or
Clicking "Blacklist user" when viewing an user's profile

What has changed is how the blacklist is applied. In previous versions, you did one of the options above and it was instantly added. However on this one, there's another step to do: after doing one of the options above, the tag, post or user will be added to a list and this list will be integrated later to your main blacklist.

Once you have all your tags ready, head on to your user settings where you will find a new list below the blacklist box and two buttons. The first will add your list to your main blacklist and clear it so you can start anew later and the second will just clear the list.

Basically, this is just the change I had to do. The feature was just weakened instead of being removed. It's a step more but the effects will be the same.

Wow, search refiner? I'm bummed I'm not at home to try it out D:

Updated by anonymous

yay! The search refiner looks like fun. It's like a "find on page" function, only it's for the tags on a page of thumbnails. One thing I noticed is that it doesn't like the concept of minus-ing a tag from view, which is easy to try and do without thinking because it's another way of narrowing the search on the page. But giving it a test run looked handy for pulling forward all-with-a-certain-tag (or two) and filtering your search results to just show that. Which I can't wait to play around with because it already looks like it's going to be addictingly handy.

The rest sounds fantastic.

It's a minor thing, but I am a little sad to see the blacklist x's in front of tags go back to be being full strength again. It was surprisingly helpful visually scanning through the tags when those x's were dimmed a little, because it made it a little more distinct where the tags column started (vs the wiki column and the blacklist columns right before it). At full strength, having all three columns like this:
"? X Andthetagitself" for every tag all visually runs together in a wall of bold text. Having the blacklist x's look slightly different from the wiki question mark and the tag name on either side of it, helped it look like distinct columns. It was nice. Any chance you could magic up some minor tweak that would visually distinguish them again? *just hopeful*

Well, the search refiner is very basic at the moment, meaning that it only looks for whatever is in the box (ex. almonds), as for the second thing, it's already up! :D

Somehow I have this strange feeling that you'll be spending some time on refining the refiner, because right now it's... Well... No words needed.

Looks like you need a word regex, something like '\bSEARCHTERM\b' according to this
